I don't care what anyone says...

Fair enough, I guess my beers don't really last more than 3 or 4 months in a keg. The exception being some high alcohol brews that I have bottled that I'm aging on purpose, but thats because I think they taste better after some age.

I don't care what anyone says...

I've never heard 'tastes better young' before. I tend to agree with the other posters here. The last pint is always allot better than the first.

    Blowoff Problem

I used to do that, but now I just use a larger hose that fits directly into the throat of the carboy. I've had the other method still get clogged.

    Single Tier Brew Stand Beginnings

Did you find other prefab'd options?

    Single Tier Brew Stand Beginnings

What about propane valves? I'm really wanting automatic valves that I can control from a control panel. Anyone know where to find some that would be compatible with that stand or something similar to it?

    Single Tier Brew Stand Beginnings

I've got three stainless kettles are that 16 1.4 inches wide including the handles... The site says that each burner area is 16 inches wide, so I could do it with the outside kettles slightly off center don't you think?

    Single Tier Brew Stand Beginnings

Alright, I'm going to start my brew stand. I want to do a single tier, and I'm going to stay with the 5 gallon size. Is this: http://bayouclassicdepot.com/tb650_triple_propane_burner.htm a good place to start? I'm sure there are cheaper ways to get all of that, but for simplicity why not...

    Shirron Wort chiller Cleaning

I don't remember any O-rings anywhere. I put those hose bard fittings on there after I got it. Actually I don't like them. I slide a hose over the end, and it ALWAYS gets so stuck on there, that i have to cut the hose at the end of the barb, and then use a razor to slice it down the side to...

    Shirron Wort chiller Cleaning

I've order some PBW, I'll get it tomorrow, and will show the 'after pictures' once I've got it cleaned. Thanks for the half view!

    Shirron Wort chiller Cleaning

Well you know, I'm not sure that it really does... I just read that when you set the oven on self clean that that is the temperature if goes to. Thanks allot though, now I have to buy another thermometer.

    Shirron Wort chiller Cleaning

Cool man, I'll give it a shot. I think you'll enjoy it. It's one of my favorites.

    Shirron Wort chiller Cleaning

So I went to clean my wort chiller. It used to be nice and silver.. I tossed it in the oven for an hour at around 900 degrees F. It started to eject some dark hoppy looking liquid. Now it looks like this: What do you guys think? Is this ruined? What should I do before i...

    Wyeast Pacman yeast temperature?

I ended up chickening out. I didn't find anywhere else other than the rebelbrewer website that said 48, so I put thermometers around the house and found out that my spare bathtub stays around 67. So I just fermented in there. Sorry for taking the easy way out.

    Wyeast Pacman yeast temperature?

So I ordered some Pacman... http://www.rebelbrewer.com/shoppingcart/products/Pacman-Yeast-from-Rogue-%252d-Wyeast-1764.html Looking at the descripion is says that it ferments as low as 48F. I didn't really look too hard, but I couldn't find anywhere else that says that it goes this low...

    Hoppest Lager

I do have a place to ferment that's above 57, but it's generally above 72.... STMBO likes the house at 72, and I have a split level house, AND due to hardwood floors on the lower level I'm forced to ferment upstairs in the spare bathtube. I feel so lame even posting this.... Anyway my point...

    Hoppest Lager

I find myself in the position of only being able to lager this time of year, but all I want to make are hoppy beers. The reality is that I find Stone Ruination about in the middle of where I like a beer to be hop-wise. I need suggestions for recipes that are lagers, but have that kickin amount...

    Conditioning / Force Carbing Question

I'm going to say yes, it will continue to condition. By condition, I mean, the flavors blend and generally taste much better. It's the 'the last pint tastes better than the first' phenomenom. I'm sure you've heard that you can force carbonate at a much higher level than you'd server at, then...

    Hop Vodka?

Alright, First, the main problem here was that the pellets expanded and consumed all of the liquid except about an inch of vodka in the neck. I drained that out, and it was mostly clear, I didn't a real need to strain that, but once that was out, basically no more vodka would come out. The...

    Hop Vodka?

I actually got all the flavors of hop tea they sell. It was ok... Very earthy and herbel. Not really my favorite. Also not really hoppy like I expected. I would probably not have known it was hops actually.
