English Strong Ale Malt Test Recipe (Simpsons DRC & Golden Naked Oats)

I'm wanting to get a bit of feedback on a recipe using two malts I've never brewed with. The first is Simpon's Double Roasted Crystal (DRC) and the other is Simpson's Golden Naked Oats. The flavor descriptions seem like they'd complement each other and at the ratios I'm using them, I'll be able...

    Ohio Trub Ring (Like TrubTrapper)

I had a custom Trub Ring similar to the TrubTrapper made for me by Chad at ArborFab. If you're not familiar with the TrubTrapper, check it out here. The TrubTrapper sells for $50 plus shipping & handling. Chad made this for me for $50 with shipping included. I'm selling it for $40 shipped...

    Ohio BNIB Adjustable Blichmann BrewMometer

I bought a Blichmann 7.5gal G2 Boilermaker. It came with the adjustable BrewMometer, but I'm not going to use it. This has never been used, never been installed. All included hardware is included and also brand new. They sell for $72.99 plus shipping. Save yourself $$$ and buy mine. It's yours...

Blichmann Boilermaker replacement o-ring sizes (McMaster-Carr)

Has anybody figured out the size and/or McMaster-Carr number for the o-ring that goes against the wall of the BoilerMaker pot and sets just inside the back of the linear flow valve? As best I can tell, the inside wall of the the groove the o-ring sits in is 23mm and the outside wall is 29mm...

    Immersion Wort Chiller Cooling Time

I use the Jaded Mantis chiller. Keep in mind I'm chilling 3.25gal. Here's a video of my chill times. :) You can watch the whole video for an overview, but the link below starts at the point in the video I'm actually chilling. Hint...hint...it's FAST! https://youtu.be/r2-uHc8DX8k?t=153

    Quick Lager Method *UPDATED*

I'd go up 3F every 12 hours until you're at 65F and leave it there. That's the "Brulosophy-ized" version.

Single Tap for Multiple Kegs...Dispenser Idea (Thoughts?)

I thought about that, but...I could also put the valves on the manifold directly. Then it's just the manifold that will need cleared out. This is only a little bit more than clearing the line of beer in the dispensing tubing. That stuff isn't all that great anyway. :) But again...I'm thinking a...

Single Tap for Multiple Kegs...Dispenser Idea (Thoughts?)

I had honestly NEVER thought of that. Kind of a DUH though. I think I may just go this route in combination with adding taps as I go. I think in the end it makes more sense. Afterall...I can resell taps down the road if I ever want to get rid of them. My design would end up scrapped or sitting...

Single Tap for Multiple Kegs...Dispenser Idea (Thoughts?)

Alright...let me preface this with my reason for looking into this idea in the first place...FUN first and COST second. For the prices of 6 taps, I'm looking at over $400 plus shipping. This method I'm looking at would cost me around $180 plus shipping. So give me your thoughts about the design...

Cooling Immersion Chiller Water Temperature with Mash Tun

This is essentially a pre-chiller but without using a separate chiller. What some guys will do is first use normal temp tap water to bring the wort down to 100F and the switch over to the chilled water. I use a recirculating pond pump for my hot weather chilling. Normal tap water to drop it to...

Looking for newer Cincinnati water report

Same here. In my opinion water and adjusting water is something every brewer can and should understand a little bit. I'm far from a chemist but I can modify my water. It really isn't hard to do. You've just got to be willing to work a bit at understanding it. YouTube, forums like this, and a bit...

Looking for newer Cincinnati water report

There is already a company doing this. It's called AccuMash. You can look into them. They have a number of different water additions packets that you add to distilled water to make water designed for a few different styles of beer.

    Show your BIAB Stand/Set up

The decorative shelving braces are hilarious. This is definitely a "here's what I had laying around" kind of build. Works though! And that's what ultimately matters. Build in sound system...nice touch.
