    The Price of Craft Beer

There are only a select few craft breweries I buy from anymore, and it's not because I claim to brew better beer - it's because clone recipes are almost as good (sometimes better). The exceptions: Toppling Goliath's PseudoSue (Iowa) Toppling Goliath's Sosus (Iowa) Rhinegeist's Truth (Ohio)...

    The Price of Craft Beer

THE EXACT reason I sold my Harley. It's stupid how much they charge for anything.

    Life's simple pleasures (besides homebrewing)

Ok gals and guys... Name one of your favorite simple pleasures in life, besides homebrewing. I'll go first...the heated blanket to pre-warm my bed!

    New stir plate

I originally made the stir plate for mixing e-juice for vaping. Then I realized it would be perfect for yeast starters and beefed up the fan. It's a perfect way to repurpose!

    New stir plate

Well I know 1L won't be an issue at all. It really will spin the tits off a bull! One of my better DIY's in a while.

    The Price of Craft Beer

You may consider a clone, Lefou! Troegs website lists Mad Elf's base grain bill as: Malt - Chocolate, Munich, Pills Hops - Hallertau, Saaz Yeast - Spicy Belgian It describes a taste of ripened cherries, raw honey and cocoa with notes of cinnamon, clove, and allspice. So...I'm sure it's...

    The Price of Craft Beer

Yikers. 16% pumpkin porter? Could either be extremely smooth or absolutely gross. Beers like that, from what I have experienced, are totally hit or miss. Next time slip one in to a Create-a-6-pack and give it a whirl!

    Yes...this just happened.

Thank you for the the idea of doing this. I was worried I might get a pin hole but all worked out well after pounding the dents out.

You know you're a home brewer when?

...when someone tries homebrew for the first time and says, "Holy cow! I didn't know beer could taste this good!" "I usually drink Bud Light :smh:" It's such a satisfying feeling.
  13. FuzzyIguana

    Yes...this just happened.

Update...used a small ball pein hammer and did pretty good job of pounding the dent out.

    Induction Kettle

Hey Yowzers: Glad to hear that works for you it makes me feel more confident as I've never used an induction top for anything, let alone brewing. Have you ever boiled 4 gals? I've got some heavy hitters (breakfast stout) that requires more water for a 90 min boil. Can I ask which one ya...

    Induction Kettle

Excellent question. I have a small wood shop in the basement and have a vent fan for voatile stains, finishes, and various other chemicals (we're not talking Breaking Bad here). I'm going to keep my current hook but upgrade to a hydroponics-grade in-line vent fan. They are very effective.

    Induction Kettle

Hey y'all I recently upgraded induction-ready kettles. I'm moving my brew station from the kitchen to basement and will need to purchase a new heat source. I'm brewing 2.5 gallon batches via BIAB and need some advice. Should I buy a quality hot plate or an induction plate? I know induction is...
