    Hard Water

    Hi Grump, I live in a rural area too. My well water is the same as yours so what I did was install a water softener for the pipes sake and then a reverse osmosis system for drinking and cooking with. Oh I forgot to mention the ultra violet lamp also,can’t be safe enough ya know.

    I have read that we can weigh the honey to get our SG before we add water. Is there a formula for this?

    the temperature will be corrected as much as I can ,a blanket or two will have to do. I have a handbook from Scott’s lab. on the way.. I hear it has great information on yeast and just about everything. still snowing here lol
