    Regulator poppet seal material

Rebuild kits are available for most regulators. If that doesn't work out, give your local welding supply a call. Many of them carry regulator parts.

    diy co2 distributor?

Easy enough to do with fittings but that would be even more expensive unless you already have them laying around. The valves used on these manifolds have a check-valve built into the actual valve to prevent cross-feeding gas between kegs and possibly affecting the flavors. So you would have to...

    Thermowell Lag Time . . . Heatsink?

You could try using a thermally conductive paste between the thermowell and the probe. It's usually a white stuff that looks much like toothpaste. It's normally used between the heat-sink and SSRs, power transistors, SCRs etc.... Most electrical suppliers carry it, including Radio Shack.

Dirty, dirty Sanke.. Where do I start?

It could have been cut with a plasma torch. That leaves burnt edge on the hole and a fine brown coating all over the inside. (I usually fill the keg, at least partially, with water to reduce the amount of exposed surface to clean up.) To start, I would probably go ahead and open the top up to...

"Custom" faucet shank removal tool... 1" wrench and dremel is all you need.

That's a good way to do it. If the tool doesn't work right, modify it. I have a box full of specialty wrenches that I've modified for specific purposes. Unfortunately, I can't always remember what I modified a particular wrench for.:o

How do you cut your square tubing? Angle Grinder?

There's a multitude of ways to cut steel tubing including an old-fashioned hacksaw. An angle grinder with a welder's razor blade will do it but not accurate or repeatable. It's also very expensive per cut. A portaband does well with straight cuts in small tubing but requires skill to get...

    Show off your mash tun

I'm still working on it. This is after the second day of the single tier build. 304 stainless steel trunnions and carriers.

    Draft Head Build

In my case, all the shanks were exactly the same size. Seven of my faucets would fit any of the ten shanks. Three of my faucets would not fit any of the ten shanks. I went though another few shanks and, at least, another dozen faucets at Austin Home Brew Supply with no gain. AHBS would have...

    Draft Head Build

We all work within limitations, although I do try to stretch them at times... We're talking about 2in shanks. (And that issue is still unproven, as to the source. Are the mating teeth on a 2in shank larger than a longer shank? Were all the 2in shanks machined slightly too large? Were all...

    Draft Head Build

I ran into a problem with the faucets mating to the shanks. I noticed it during the fit-up but knew I could take it back and they would straighten it out. Initially, I thought it was the shanks... It couldn't possibly be the Perlik faucets.... So, I took the whole lot down to Austin Home...

    Draft Head Build

I used to live in San Antonio. It's only about a 2hr drive up. If you're seriously interested. PM me sometime and give it a shot. Don't be jealous.... Just look at a pile of scrap and envision what it could be...:tank: I hope you washed your hands...;) High praise indeed. I hope the...

The lid is a single panel of polished stainless surrounded by 1/8inx3/4inx3/4in aluminuminuminum angle, hand riveted with round-head-soft-solid aircraft rivets. I thought it would give it a more MANLY appearance than just plain 'ol countersink rivets.:D That's the problem with many wives...

Careful.... She might have some projects of her own in mind. I managed to finish the lid this morning and finished up the polishing. The lid is a little tight but I don't plan on removing it much anyway. Picture #1 With the completed lid on and polishing complete. Picture #2...

    Welding S/S to copper

There is lead in brass but is in such a small quantity that it isn't much of a concern. You, most likely, have brass fittings and maybe some faucets all through your house that are brass and haven't bothered you yet. If you are still concerned about it... Brass can be pickled to leach out the...

    Shop Kegerator

No shortage of kegs at my house.... The oddball lids will probably get converted into force carbonators. I haven't decided about the stray kegs yet. They have diptubes and four 1/4in NPT connections. I can get conversion fittings to go from 1/4in NPT to the thread for ball-lock fittings...

Ya... It will probably wind up polished. It doesn't take much to polish it once the metal has been random orbit sanded to a satin finish and it's so purdy when done.

    Shop Kegerator

At the moment I don't plan on selling any as I will be running two in the house keezer and four in the shop kegerator. I do use foam plugs soaked in sanitizer when not in use. However, the faucets seem to be in use much of the time.:drunk: That's the "Hall of Fame" from previous parties. The...

    Shop Kegerator

The 10 liter kegs are German and from de-commisioned solvent processors where I work. (One of my work benefits is prime picking rights on stuff being disposed of.:D) The solvents used are residue-free and I did a beyond-thorough decontamination of the tanks. (It is a fairly lengthy process...
