To each their own, but the specs on the thermoworks site show the thermapen has a differential of +/-.7°F while the rt600c has a differential of +/-.9°F, and the cost difference is about $80. I'm not saying don't get a thermapen because it seems like the best option out there per most everyone...

Just snagged one, they had 5 or 6 - $8.98 - comes with the lil keg fermenter, the can of hopped malt, something for carbonation & some kinda cleaner. Nice lil fermenter at least :)

I just unhook mine when I'm not pulling from it. Someday will get a collar and some perlicks.

I don't know that he abandoned craft beer... Growing larger doesn't always make you a sell out. He makes what he likes and doesn't exactly shift with the times though. Maybe if he released a barrel aged imperial stout with spices and hot peppers he'd make it back into the trendy bars...
