    VISSANI Build

Couldn't you just plug the whole cooler in your stc-1000 instead ? Do you really have to mess with the built in thermostat ?

    All grain tools

Most important thing you need : a good thermometer for accurate temperature readings which are crucial when brewing all grain. I bought the thermapen and am very happy with it. *edit : don't forget a brewing software (beersmith or beertools), I couldn't brew withtout it !

    e kettle question

I plan to install two 120v elements to my aluminium kettle. I still don't know if I'm gonna go with a junction box or jb weld with a pvc coupling to mount the elements. Since my kettle is made out of aluminium, does this affect my grounding options ? I'm not sure if I should ground at the...

How to build a 5 gal, 110v eBIAB kettle

Awesome build ! I've got two questions for people using this exact setup 1) what do you do to get rid of all the water vapor when boiling ? I do 5 gallons batches and the pre-boil amount is like 7-8 gallons which is too heavy to put on a stovetop I think. 2) I have an aluminium pot...

Hi, I'd like to switch to electric but I am noob when it comes to electricity. I'm trying to learn here ! First of all what I want is super simple : One kettle, one element and a way to control the power to the element. It will be used as a boil kettle so I don't need lights or switches I...

    cooler mash tun alternative

So i've been thinking about replacing my cooler mash tun for a while. I like the simplicity of the cooler but I don't like the idea of putting very hot liquid in plastic. I thought about buying a kettle, putting it in a larger container and fill the void with foam. But it would be ugly. What I...

    fermentation chamber

Don't know if it's the right place to ask but I was wondering how people achieve a temperature range of 66-68 F with a fridge ? All they do is hook up a temperature controller and the fridge will stay at the selected temperature ?

    I love bottling

I stopped brewing because of the bottling process. Just got my first keg last month ! Bottling simply equals a major time loss to me.

    stupid picnic tap....

So my first kegged beer has been sitting in the fridge for a couple of days now and I decided, a few minutes ago, to hook up the beer line with the pinic tap attached to it. As soon it was plugged in, beer started to pour all over the place, even though the tap was close. I immediately removed...

    insulating material

I'm planning to build an insulated mash tun out of an aluminium pot. It will be used like a cooler mash tun, (mix water and grain, cover, and come back and hour later) What's the best insulation material to get between spray foam, stryrofoam or mineral wool ? Are they equivalent in terms of...

    milling problem...

So I have a barley crusher and I've got 2 drills for it. I have a makita 18v but even if have a fully charged battery, it will die halfway through and I'm afraid of burning the motor. The other drill is a 5.4 A corded hitachi. Problem is, the speed is either too slow or too fast and when it's...
