    Diy beer tower

I'm planning on building a pvc tower. However, I'm a bit confused as to what I need to purchase for the hardware. I'll need a faucet and a shank right ? What kind of shank should I get for a 3" round tower ? Just wondering how I'm gonna tighten all this on a round surface

    crush question again !

Well I've got a thermapen and it's supposed to be super accurate. I'm pretty confident the problem came from the mill. I crushed my grain with the cranknstein before I realized it was way too coarse. There was quite a big difference compared to the barley crusher.

    crush question again !

I brewed using a different mill last weekend and I had a terrible efficiency. The mill is a crankandstein and I found out the gap setting was much looser than my barley crusher. Then I remembered that I used a credit card on the barley crusher so I did the same with the cranknstein. The crush...

    Looking for advice on kegerator

I needed to cut some shelving in my mini fridge door. Everything fits perfectly butndo you guys have any idea on how to seal or cover exposed foam in the door ? I am talking about that nasty spray foam they use which makes a lot of dust when you scrape it ? Duct tape would be the last option...

    tight connection

I've been kegging for the last 12 months and I'm having a problem with my keg. The beer line (out) is extremely hard to connect to the keg. Once it's on, no leaks though but after a couple of months, I'm seeing some wear on the ring , propably caused by the tighness of the connecter. Anything I...

    installing beer tower

I finally got my new Danby mini fridge today. Now I'm read a few threads about building a mini fridge kegerator and I'm wondering a few things. 1) Do I really have to take off the top of the fridge ? Seems like a major pain and I might break the plastic. To find the lines, I plugged the...

    Getting into hops !

Well i'm quite confused about what is a shoot, bud and crown. Basically, as long as the rhizome is still in the ground, I'm gonna have a plant growing each year right ? But after 2-3 years, aren't the roots gonna be too big to get rid of ?

    Getting into hops !

Hello, I live with my mother currently and would like to plant some hops. Problem is next year, i'll move out so i need to get rid of the hops. Are they very hard to get rid of ? I've read some people are having problems with that. Otherwise, i'll plant them in a big pot

    Big fail tonight....

Yeah I guess. Keg is considered a large pot so maybe it does not help. The resistance of both elements is 10 ohms

    Big fail tonight....

All right guys so I have a few updates for you ! My elements are rated for 120V at 1500W. I bought a multimeter today and right now, I'm doing a test. I took a reading on both elements and got 119V each so voltage is not a problem Could it be that one of the element is not heating as it should...

    Big fail tonight....

Not I haven't measured my outlet voltage...I will borrow a voltmeter next week. 10 mins after my original post, I got a small boil. What do you think ? I'm used to a big vigorous boil from my propane burner so I'm not sure if this boil is all right. As you can see, most of the bubbles are right...

    Big fail tonight....

So....after a few weeks of working on my electric keggle, I finally got a chance to test it tonight only to find out I can't achieve a boil at all. I'm stuck at 203 F even with a few layers of insulation (I'm brewing inside btw !) Here are the specs : 2 x 1500 W elements on two different...

    Stc 1000 question !

All right guys, here's an update : I removed all the wires and started over but this time, I didn't use the heating outlet on the stc. It works perfectly as it is and I don't need a heater in my fermentation chamber anyway !
