cheap non forward sealing faucets will stick unless you use them regularly. but they are way cheaper. i would buy beverage hose. its not that much more expensive and you dont have to worry about chemicals leaching into your beer. buy some when you are placing an order online for other brew...

i have an older perlick, and a 4" (i think) shank. it is probably 8 years old. i havent used it in some time send me a pm and i can work something out with you.

it will be dead space and not cooled at same temp, you will need to circulate cold air into the pvc. you can run a smaller diameter pipe into the 3" pipe near the end and force air down the shaft, this will cause the forced air to returnd back into the other area, and circulate the cold air.
