I will be doing my first attempt at a Berliner weisse beer. 3 lbs 2 row 4 lbs wheat 6 oz acidulated malt. Boil 15 mins with .25 oz of centennial for 10 ibu' s with white labe Berliner weisse yeast.
I was told Belgians don't make real beer because they are to fruity. As the guy was pouring a Franz hefe dunkle. I will have to admit I giggled inside.
I ferment in 7 gallons buckets for 5 gallon batches and only had one batch over flow through the air lock. Still use air locks. It looks like the op was using a 5 gallon bucket that is the only time I would use one.
Bringing beer if you don't have home brew tobacco meeting is also being courteous. There were times that I didn't have any home brew when I went to my meetings. I just stopped by the store and picked up some beer and not bmc either.
If you want to clear your beer with out a secondary you can also cold crash. Which drops sediment and other things in suspension out of the beer. Do this in swamp cooler or fridge.
