Does this fall into a specific style?

Yeah that's basically what I was going to do, but I'm talking about 2-3 gallons of beer and then 2-3 gallons of fresh apple juice, I don't know if that would fall into any of the Belgium styles with that much juice.

Does this fall into a specific style?

I tried using the search but I am not sure what to search for, I was thinking of making a beer/cider, with say 2-3 gallons of fresh pressed apple juice and the rest with normal beer wort. Does this fall into a bjcp style? I want to look it up on bjcp but I am not sure what style to look at.

    My new portable Keg system

When it comes to 2.5 to 3 gallon corny's its almost a better investment to buy them new. I watched ebay for awhile and got one for about 75 shipped, but its tough to find them in good condition. Plus the one I bought was advertised as 3 gallon but turned out to be 2.5. Oh well still an ok deal...

Rogue Chocolate Stout bottled with Pacman?

Whats the big draw to the pacman yeast? A local hbs has a bunch of the Wyeast smack packs of it, I was thinking of grabbing a couple.

How fast does AHS process your orders?

I have heard of multiple bad experiences with AHS from slow order processing to the quality of their milled grains to their customer service. So I've never order from them. There are plenty of other good internet based home brew companies out there. Just do a search for one. The one I have been...

    alternatives to malt extract?

I don't know, could you call that beer? Usually if you are fermenting all or mostly just sugar, its called a wash and is then used to make a distilled beverage such as Rum.

    WAY overcarbonated brews- HELP

Yes and No, what it shows is that an American Amber should have between 2.2 and 2.8 volumes of c02. So you choose your desired amount, ie 2.5, and it will tell you how many oz of sugar to use. So in your case, you could use anywhere from 3.5 ish to 5.25 ish oz of sugar and be within style...

    WAY overcarbonated brews- HELP

Actually its 3/4 cup per 5gallon, looks like you misunderstood too. The actual amount varies by style, if you don't care about style then the 1oz per gallon or 3/4 cup per 5 gallons is fine. If you want to prime it for style, then use this: The Beer Recipator - Carbonation

    Does it make any difference

I don't think Filtered water would necessarily make a better beer. It all depends on what kind of tap water you have. A lot of tap water is great and can make great unique beer. It also depends on what type of beer you are making. Different water profiles are better for different types of beer.

First brew is in the fermenter: thoughts on procedure?

You don't want to squeeze the steeping grain bag. It can cause off flavors "astringency(sp)", just take it out or you can poor a quart or two of 170 degree water over it to help pull out more of the goodies. 80 degrees is fine for pitching as long as you can bring it down soon after like you...

    Pictures of Rotating Sparge arm

Is it supposed to spin that fast? I had never seen one in action before, but I imagined it would spin slower. My understanding is that you want to slowly add water and slowly drain it out.

Nice tour of Rogue Brewery - sort of funny

That was a great video. Rogue is one of the places I never visited but wish I had back when I lived in Portland.

Pangborn Pale Ale (Drop Top Clone)

Not to put down your recipe or anything but I don't see how this could possibly taste like Drop Top. Your recipe looks like a classic American Pale Ale. Drop top is a Amber with totally different ingredients. If you want to make a Drop Top clone you should use what Widmer uses in the recipe and...

There isn't a final gravity on my recipe

Ferment it till its done, then stop. Final gravity is what it is.

    Burn warning!!!!!

If it is a really bad burn go to a doctor and have them prescribe some silvadine(sp) cream for you. It works great, pulls the burn right now.

15 gal conical I put together

Sorry let me be more clear. You can get the individual parts to build your own fittings a lot cheaper at the hardware stores. That web site showed both complete fittings and individual parts, all of which are very over priced. Not all places will have stainless steel ball valves. Mine only had...

Completely forgot to add dry malt powder

There are some decent fate tire kits out there. If your local hbs doesn't have a fate tire specific kit, just look for any Amber kit and use a Belgian yeast.

15 gal conical I put together

If you have a local lowes or home depot you can get all those fittings parts a lot cheaper.
