    Guess on Picobrew's Kickstarter?

Seems like a pico pack all you can brew subscription is one of the offerings.

    Guess on Picobrew's Kickstarter?

I'm betting along the lines of: integrated post-boil chiller fermentation temperature control full 5 gallon batch size? less likely - automated water measurement Meanwhile, all I really want is: a better recipe editor better batch notes (with FG, fermentation schedule, etc) the ability to...

    Brewie

This is all moot until A: they become available for general purchase and B: in-depth reviews of the mature product become available. In other news, Pico's got some new product they're announcing a kickstarter campaign for on April 3rd.

    Hop radar graphs ala brulosophy?

    Thanks for the resource.

    Hop radar graphs ala brulosophy?

Yes it's a radar graph that can be generated from a data set. I didn't realize they were making it themselves. ...Is there a place we can get these radar graphs though? A book perhaps?

    Hop radar graphs ala brulosophy?

I've seen brulosophy use radar graphs with respect to hop flavor and aroma (attached). Does anyone know where they're finding these radar graphs? If there was a central source for them for all hop varieties it would be hella interesting to use those to plan for flavor combinations.

Sources for Long Natural Gas Hose

And yet that's what's being discussed here.

Sources for Long Natural Gas Hose

With either electric OR gas, you should make sure your project is up to code, because your home owner's / renter's insurance will not protect you if it's not. In BOTH cases that means hiring someone to do it right. Would anyone with an iota of common sense ever recommend a lay person wire...

    PicoBrew Zymatic

The rubber knobbies are there because the step filters were warping/cracking due to pockets of heat during dishwasher cycles, so the PB team drilled some holes and made some rubber plugs.

quick check - proposed pressurized fermentation process?

Ok there's something weird going on for me then. My partial pressures expertise isn't great. Brewer's Friend has a keg carbonation calculator which suggests that, for 2.3 volumes of CO2 at 68F, I need 24.5PSI. At 40F, that becomes 10.1PSI to maintain the 2.3 volumes of CO2. I interpreted...

quick check - proposed pressurized fermentation process?

I'm looking to speed up my process by using pressurized fermentation. Can someone look at my proposed method and tell me if it'll work? Here's what I'm envisioning: -ferment in keg 1. keg 1 gas output jumped to keg 2 gas post. keg 2 is filled with starsan and its liquid post is connected...

Few ideas here: be absolutely certain of your pre-mash volume (cold) be absolutely certain your PB is level Actually measure your post-boil volume (cold) Then measure your post-ferment volume For starters.

    Rotating spray ball pump

To be honest people have reported the cheapo plastic sump pumps to be effective in this regard.

Sources for Long Natural Gas Hose

Wide diameter NG hoses are expensive. Corrugated (ie flexible) gas hoses also create so much flow resistance that, at 50 feet, your flow will be so poor that your BTU/H will also be negligible. If you must have natural gas, and your heart is set on brewing in your detached garage, you're...

    PicoBrew Zymatic

Anyone got the exact numbers on efficiency on PB's two modes? For that matter, anyone got info on higher efficiency mash schedules? I absolutely love my Zymatic but I'm hoping to be able to try out different fermentability levels.

    PicoBrew Zymatic

Grain efficiency isn't the raison d'etre of the Zymatic - it's easy recipe repeatability and a massive reduction in time spent cleaning/fiddling with equipment and babysitting your brew day.

Try measuring the weight of the keg pre-ferment so that all those other losses you mentioned aren't factored. I've had pretty damn accurate preferment volumes and gravities using the picobrew predictive recipe maker.

    Brewie

Terrible idea. 1 - voids warranty, and with an unproven, rough-around-the-edges product from an unproven company that's having execution issues, that's fatal. 2 - the whole_farking_point of an automated system is to save you from having to do this kind of thing.

    PicoBrew Zymatic

I literally wrapped a keg lid in aluminum foil, dripped about 6 drops of antifoam on the bottom of it, spread it around with my finger, and placed it on top (not inside / sealed) of the keg opening. Worked great. This was with a 4 gallon batch to boot, and there was no foaming noticed, so it...

    PicoBrew Zymatic

The pico rubber keg lid works perfectly well. To be honest you don't really need it to brew or to ferment - I put a few drops of antifoam on a piece of tinfoil and used that as a lid for my last brew session. If you want to ferment without the rubber lid - just use a regular keg lid. And...
