Not Japan. I recall being in a car driving over this bridge as a child. I never left North America until I was in my 20s.

Never been to that part of DC. Closest I've been is Georgetown. When I get up that way, I usually ride the Metro and that's quite a clip from the nearest station as far as I can tell. Here's a bridge which I recall from my childhood. Recent discussion reminded me of it:

Ugh... I've really been trying to find images of footbridges in the area and everything wants to show me Rock Creek in DC or a pedestrian bridge that collapsed up there. Digging more....
