    RIMS up in smoke

I would also guess an inadequate connection to the SSR. The connection should definitely have at least as much metal as the wire and be secure. The connection obviously got too hot so maybe better cooling is needed?

    Fermentation Chamber

Here's an alternative: The Northern Brewer Homebrew Forum • View topic - Fermentation Chiller (Pic's Included) Your idea is definitely simpler though.

    Rusted Bottle Caps

I used to use One Step to sanitize my caps and after a few minutes the edges of the caps would have rust or rust-like buildup on them. I rubbed it off with my fingers and used them and the beer (several different batches) came out great. I would recommend taking the bottles out of your heating...

    Hybrid chiller?

Seems like it would work and it looks nice on the outside. I've seen people make similar devices that they said worked great. $35 isn't much over the materials and is probably a good deal depending on how you value your time. I would recommend running the wort through it fairly slow to cool it...

Oven baking bottles with label on?

I don't think he's wanting to sanitize them this way, he's wanting to burn the labels off instead of scrubbing them off. It's probably a bad idea. But hypothetically if I were to do it I'd try one bottle first at 450*F-500*F. I'd also be sure to have a fire extinguisher close at hand, really...

Incomplete fermentation? Too much priming sugar?

It's definitely possible. Stuck fermentations are basically as they sound. The yeast stop fermenting for some reason or another so there remains an amount of fermentable sugar left in the beer. If you then bottle the beer and the yeast decide to start fermenting again, you can get bottle bombs...

Incomplete fermentation? Too much priming sugar?

Only if you can accurately read the hydrometer through the carboy glass, but I don't think so. Of course, you need to sterilize the hydrometer first! If it turns out you are having a lot of stuck fermentations, look into yeast energizer.

    Oxygenation time

I didn't have to do any of that. I got an O2 tank off (you guessed it) eBay and stopped by the nearest Airgas and had them fill it. Everything was exactly the same as getting a CO2 tank filled. I'm pretty sure it's a welding tank though which evidently makes a difference. Sounds like another...

    Keezer Area/Volume?

Ok, I just re-read your post. Assuming each corny keg needs a 10" square, for 6 kegs you need (6kegs)*(10^2inch^2/keg)*(1foot^2/(12^2in^2))=4.2 square feet. This is a bit of an overestimate, but that's a good thing. Don't forget to factor in space for a CO2 tank if you plan on having it inside...

Incomplete fermentation? Too much priming sugar?

Well he said it tastes good so it's probably not an infection otherwise I agree with beerrific. If I were you, I would start taking SG readings before pitching yeast and before bottling if you're not already. You can leave it in primary or secondary as long as you like, but it doesn't guarantee...

Stuck lids on old soda kegs

I'd fill it with a hot cleaning solution and let it sit upside down and soak for a while to dissolve all the soda syrup then try and open it again.

    Keezer Area/Volume?

This image should help you out. In order to see different arrangements of kegs in my freezer I made a scale drawing in Inkscape. A scale rectangle for the bottom area of the freezer and scale circles for the bottom area of the kegs and found the best arrangement.

    Oxygenation time

I bought a new-old-stock, single gauge, medical O2 regulator off eBay for ~$25 with free shipping. So that's cheaper than most or all CO2 regulators I've seen.

    Oxygenation time

I would agree with dstar26t. I use a .5 micron stone at the bottom of the full fermenter with an oxygen bottle. Well before you can even "open the valve fully" way too much foam is created and it will flow out of the fermenter. I found about 2psi works great. I found this by turning the O2 up...

How are you supposed to clean a keg when it runs out?

Cleaning tips aside, I keep a keg full of starsan around and when I need to fill a keg with brew I just push the starsan into a (clean) keg and rack into the old starsan keg. There's a bit of starsan left, but that's supposed to be good for the yeasties :) . I use the tube used to transfer the...

    Cheers to beer filters

Nice, congratulations! I'm thinking about making a filter setup too. One with two whole house filters in line so I only have to push it through once and sanitize one keg. It seems like it might leave a lot of beer behind though. I'm not sure it will be worth it though only for looks. From what I...

    20 LB CO2 Tank

    You'll love kegging! Enjoy!

    20 LB CO2 Tank

It's a good deal as long as it's all functional. You can always locate it outside the kegerator. The refills for a 20lb tank aren't that much more than smaller tanks and you don't have to refill them as often. I would almost prefer a 50lb tank, but it seems like it would be a hassle to move it...

    Kegging, Pressure/Temp/Time question

I'm positive you're not supposed to get the regulator wet. I may be misunderstanding what you're saying though.

    100qt SS Stock Pot

Nice, thanks for the links. If I only ever planned on doing 5 gal batches I definitely wouldn't even consider this pot, but I'm thinking ahead... :) Other than structural integrity, I don't care about the thickness of the bottom because I plan on making the brew pot all electric. dblee50 Why...
