    Should I remove bloe-off tube?

Sunday night saw some very active fermentation coming from my pumpkin brew. Replaced airlock with blow off tube just in time. It has calmed down quite a bit. Probably a bubble every 2-3 seconds right now. Two questions, is there any problem with me changing the water daily? Also, should I swirch...

    crossing fingers for no contamination!!

Thanks for the great advice. I will definitely attempt to recover some beer from the trub. I choose to go with pumpkin in the kettle as I heard nightmares about it clogging the mash.

    crossing fingers for no contamination!!

    crossing fingers for no contamination!!

OK, so yesterday was my first attempt at all grain brewing. Seemed ok except for a few things. Mash called for 3.5 gallons of water for the 10.75 lbs of grain. 1st running only collected 2.25 gallons! I do not know if this is normal, but seemed real low to me. Heated up another 2 gallons to 170...

    How much water???

Going with the 100% pure canned pumpkin. Not in the mash however. I will use at various times during the boils with a majority of it being used in the last 20 minutes.

    How much water???

Going for my first 5 gallon all grain batch next saturday. I go the pumkin kit from northern brew. It calls for a mash in for 60 minutes at 152, and mash out for 10 minutes at 170. Grain bill is a total of 10.75 lbs. As this is my first all grain attempt, I'm unsure as to how much water to...
