    No Hole Pot?

I had thought of putting the pump lower than the pot and giving it a suck to prime, I bought a 100ml syringe for that reason. My concern Is that the pump might loose prime when pumping boiling wort. Is this actually something I need to worry about? Atb. Aamcle

    No Hole Pot?

I'm considering setting up a small full volume BIAB system using a 25litre Stock Pot with recirculation I'm comfortable with BIAB as I had a bigger BIAB some years ago. I'd really really like to avoid cutting holes in the pot I can do it I have the cutters, but I don't want to, I'll use a...

Speed Brewing.. did it work out?

The book was published in 2015 I think and there is a podcast I found the other day. Has anybody here tried the recipes, were they good is it worth bothering with? How good is the beer? Atb. Aamcle

    Motorized Mash Stirrer

I made one a few years ago from a car wiper motor an interesting project that gave me marginally better control but no noticeable improvement in the beers. I stopped using if as it was just more to clean and maintain. Aamcle

    Diaphragm pump??

In 2022 I hope to do a new build I'd really like to use a high flow peristaltic pump but they don't seem to be economically viable, they are very expensive. I like the idea because they are sanitary and self priming I could hook the pumps inlet tube over the side of the kettle rather that fit an...

    Valve Info needed?

I'm considering a build and the neatest option requires a controllable valve that take one input tube but allows the selection of 3 outputs. It needs to withstand boiling water and be sanitary/easy to clean. I can design such a valve but I have no facility to machine one so I need to buy...

    3v Gravity system - question.

No problem, I'm familiar with those methods but is a pump required to drain the kettle? I don't think it is but I'd like to be sure. Thanks aamcle

    3v Gravity system - question.

Good Morning All. If you have a gravity system do to drain the Boil Kettle in to the FV under gravity? Do you use a filter of any sort at the outlet to stop bits of hops or other crud getting into the FV? How do you stop the filter blocking and cutting off the flow into the FV? Thanks Aamcle.

    CraftBeer Pi questions.

Evening All. I have a few CBPi questions and I'm getting no answers on the FB group so I hope a member here will help me. I installed CBPi on a Pi3B+ and had a look at the screens but never used it so beyond installation I never configured it. It was put in a cupboard when a GrainFather...

Fixed cooling coil in boil kettle?

Following on from my thread about automating a tiny brewery I wondering about having a cooling coil in the kettle throughout the boil. As the kettle is small both it and any fitted coil would go straight into the dishwasher for cleaning. Do any members boil with the cooling coil in place? Are...

    Automating Brewery Cleaning

I'm in the UK, running the water and draining it isn't a problem unfortunately I'm not going to be able to install a fixed supply. I'll set up some sort of cart with the brewery on it and wall mount a sink using a temporary supply from some of food grade hose. That will enable me to use the...

    Automating Brewery Cleaning

Yes I like building things I have a GF now but it's less satisfying (+less leaky) than the systems I have built over the years. I'm now in the position were I would benefit from a very small very easy to use system but it's the brewers dilemma 23l takes very little more time and effort than...

    Automating Brewery Cleaning

I did BIAB for some time, it combined with nochill does reduce the cleaning but I don't want to go back to that. I never liked handling the heavy hot floppy bag when it was time to remove it. Aamcle
