Is beer a common drink or a special drink for you?

If I didn't drink everyday, my pipeline would get all screwed up. Those kegs aren't gonna empty themselves ya know.

First small hop farm. Help Please. Questions

Sorry, I have no way of taking pics and it won't be set up until we transplant in a couple weeks. I just use normal plumbing PVC fittings. In the beginning of your irrigation line, install a T-fitting with a screw cap on the "T" part. Install a complementary fitting onto the hose of the...

First small hop farm. Help Please. Questions

I have not grown hops, but I believe that the soil should be the primary concern when growing any kind of plant. I saw you ripping down the planting line, how deep does that go? It looked like the rest of the area might be pretty compacted from all the activity. Roots usually like loose...

Attaching 2' copper pipe in 3" tower??

I am at this stage as well. I was just going to wing it, but would like to hear if there are any genius ideas out there as well.

    capper problems

After many uses, my capper no longer works with lagunitas bottles because the distance from the lip to that ridge is too short. I've never had a problem with screw-tops.

Why does my beer taste like wine?

Does anyone know if this is true with many lagers or just the Coopers kit? I brewed my first lager, BIAB about 1.5 months ago, and it definetely tastes like wine but it's still in the carboy. I think I moved it to the 40 degree cooler too soon. Is repitching some yeast starter a bad idea?

    New recipe please review

I've never brewed anything similar, but have been researching beers with coriander and orange. It seems only .5 oz. of crushed coriander is a common amount.

    My beer's weak finish

If you can do full-boil 10 gallon batches, just go straight for BIAB. You'll most likely notice a big improvement.

Can't believe I'm asking an OG/FG question.... help?

Did you top off with water in the carboy and then take the OG measurement? If it wasn't thoroughly mixed first, your reading would be off. I've also heard about residual CO2 in the sample throwing off readings, but I don't know if this would apply in your case. I would say the only way to...

    Late addition Simcoe = Apricot?

I brewed my first AG awhile ago; BIAB and also single hopped (kinda) with Simcoe, all late-hop additions. I'm just now happy with the stage that it's in (carbonation/flavor). I would like to know if anybody else thinks that a Simcoe beer tastes like an alcoholic apricot (in a really good...

Get my FG down during lagering

I brewed some Lakeside Lager about a month ago, had it fermenting at 55 degrees for 10 days, D-rest for 3 and now in a 40 degree cooler. Stupid me just trusted that 10 days would suffice to get the gravity pretty close to my target FG and didnt actually check it. I did taste it and thought it...

American Pale Ale Bee Cave Brewery Haus Pale Ale

Right now I'm drinking a Mosaic Pale Ale that I brewed and am about to keg a batch of Edwort's Haus Pale in a couple days, so I'll be able to give you a better idea in about a week. As of now, the mosaic isn't too bad. I think it is more of a piney flavor than the cascade (which I think tends...

How many gallons of EdWort's Haus Pale Ale have been made?

4620+5 = 4625 Added 1 # DME due to my low efficiency BIAB and added some Mosaic hops because my Cascade was only 5%AA. Hit 1.055 OG and looking forward to kegging this in 2 weeks!

    Lager - Single fermentation temperature

Hmm, so the 50 degrees isn't sufficient for lagering? Maybe I can find another cooler set at a lower temperature. This will be a somewhat surreptitious (but perfectly legal) fermentation process, hence not being able to pull it out for a d-rest and trying to do it all at one temperature...

    Lager - Single fermentation temperature

Hi there, I just gained access to a 50 degree cooler and it got me thinking of trying a lager recipe for the first time. I do have a couple hurdles to overcome however.. First, the cooler is about a 10-15 minute drive away from where I brew. I was thinking I could brew, throw it in a...
