    Crushing grain without a mill

As a business owner and employer, I would hope that is your own paper shredder, at home.

Arrogant Bastard - Extract Clone Kit Advice

I find the kits from NB to be very good. I think they offer a quality product in most of their kits. I must admit that I often steal their recipes and use grains and hops from my LHBS to brew them. I would advise you brew the kit as is. I think you will enjoy it. Then, if you feel you want...

    Crushing grain without a mill

You could make a real good friend of the LHBS guy and go buy a mill from him, ;) or maybe just the 3# of grain you need for the beer your doing.

Don't know if first stage has finished

You can go months and still bottle condition with no issue. I have no idea what you are refering to when you say plastic keg, but if it has it's own Co2 source then you wont need to use the priming sugar at all.

The craft beer bubble is busting.

That is what I meant by, being creative with what's in your environment.

The craft beer bubble is busting.

Buy grain in bulk, use homegrown hops, save yeast, and be creative with what's in your environment. It' really isn't that hard to get close to those figures, although a $15 batch is really pushing it these days.

The craft beer bubble is busting.

The reason that you are seeing so many IPA'S is that they are by far the most popular beers for most of these micro's. It's hard to have a sour on tap that doesn't sell a keg in a week when the three taps next to it, have IPA's that sell out as fast as they can make them. While I am an...

No priming sugar 10 days later!!!

www.northernbrewer.com/products/northern-brewer-fizz-drops-8-oz Give something like this a try. Pop a top, drop in a tablet, and recap. The hard part is waiting another week or two for them to carb.

    New to Extract Brewing

First of all let me say welcome. Beware, this hobby easily becomes an obsession. If you are totally new to brewing then extract is certainly the way to go in an apartment setting. Most recipes can be scaled down from the 5 or 10 gallon level to just 1 or 2 gallons. This is a great way to get...

Don't know if first stage has finished

Go ahead and ad your remaining fermentables. Can't hurt it at this point. Take another gravity reading after adding the sugar.

    Yeast Question

Without any gravity readings, how do you know for sure that no fermentation has taken place? Although rare, fermentation can actually happen without much visible action. Especially if left unobserved for an extended time. It is likely that your beer fermented fully long ago and just left...
