    New Orleans Brewer

I am actually a Ca native, but moved to Fl when I was 19. Lived in Gainesville for many years. That's where I learned what a real football team was. :mug: Never could get onboard with LSU. Beerfest sounds good to me. Good little drive for me though.

I think I hit the motherload

Thank you, Cindy for your kind words. I am a Deputy Sheriff in the New Orleans area, which is not the safest area of the country right now. "When NOLA evacuated after Katrina, Texas had NEVER seen criminals like the ones out of there, it was like, these people did not come from a civilized...

    Concerned about new batch

Thanks guys for the replies. I guess I'll just watch it for a few more days (maybe a week or two). Hopefully it will be ok. I didn't catch what I was typing on the original post. I didn't add a pound of yeast or fuggle hops. Haha Thanks again for the reassurance. Checked the recipe and it...

    Concerned about new batch

Hello gang- I know that watching the airlock is not "conclusive" evidence that fermentation is taking place, but it is "some" indication that things are on track. New batch never did have an aggressive airlock, like my previous three batches. The original SG was 1.062 pitched at 70* on 12-5-12...

    Who's the Greatest Band EVER!!!!!

I agree on the Metalica solos and power riffs. "Enter Sandman" is a classic riff. Want to hear some great solo's? Listen to some of Molly Hatchet's stuff. Doesn't get any better than "Dreams I'll never see", "Gatorcountry" and their version of "FreeBird" to name a few. The early stuff with Dave...

    Who's the Greatest Band EVER!!!!!

I like Metalica too, but Lars is a tool. To be honest, I have never listened to Tool, but I never thought I would like Korn either. Their version of Another Brick in the Wall kicks azz. :rockin: I was just trying to have alittle fun with Tool, no disrespect intended.

    Who's the Greatest Band EVER!!!!!

While I think some of the bands listed in this thread are good (except Tool), lets not go with who is your current favorite. We are talking about the "greatest band of ALL time". We have to look at who influenced a generation the most and who made the biggest impact. I think Iron Maiden(like...

I think I hit the motherload

Wheeew. 29 of the 32 kegs are either shipped or accounted for. I only kept 3 for myself. Busy couple of days. Some to members here and some to local brewers. If I find another stash, I think I'll sell them. :D

    What's on your Christmas list?

Ha. I wish. With 350 watts 10 will be enough. Marshall used to sell faceplates that showed 11. Haven't seen one in years though. Some Marshall amps go to 12

    Kegging Question

Makes perfect sence. Never really thought about it that way. My new routine now. Thank you

    Kegging Question

    1. Afte you put the beer into the keg apply c02 to push the o2 out of the keg. You have to bleed the keg off a few times to push all the o2 out. 2. I leave mine connected to carbonate the beer. Some peole connect it to the "out" side of the keg and some people connect it to the "in" side. I...

    Wow! It tastes freaking good!

Congrats. Glad it turned out good for you. I love brewing my own and drinking it (even if no one else likes it). My beer actually sucks, but I drink it anyway. I just enjoy the whole process. It truly is an addiction.

Any tractor guys out there? Help

Ahhh. Good point. I forgot about the inner tube. Duhhhh. Yea, think they do. Senior moments are getting closer together now. Someone told what the first sign of old age is, but I forgot what it was.
