Kveik -> FG reached -> bottled... Problem?

7 weeks in bottles and the taste is awesome! Thanks for feedback. Next time I'll let it sit in the fermenter longer.

Improving neipa malt bill. Fuller body and foam

Hi. I have made few good neipas, but I would like to make the body fuller and foam little better. My Malt bill has been like this: -Pale ale Malt 74% -Simpson's Malted oats 19% -Simpson's caramalt 5.5% -Acidulated Malt (ireks acid) 1.5% (Mashed at 67 celsius /153F, 60min) (I do water...

New England IPA Blasphemy - No Boil NEIPA

Ou,... The coldbrew was better than just noboil. Also little water treatment was better than none. But I have a wery soft tap wather in here

New England IPA Blasphemy - No Boil NEIPA

I've done few batches. I think this is a good method to test different hops with small batches, but not really fan of the overall taste. I prefer normal AG anyday. Best experiments was when I did 4 small batches at the same time. All with one different hop. Then I made different combinations...

Black floating stuff in the bottle.

What is this black thing floating in my neipa beer. Nothing black in the ingredients. It just floats there. 5 weeks in the bottles. And it's in all the bottles, not just this one. The stuff you can see in the neck is undissolved sugar (I think) . I added sugars straight to the bottle.

Kveik -> FG reached -> bottled... Problem?

It's 1.5 gallon batch bottled in normal ale bottles. The attenuation was 80% and the FG was 48hours without any change. When I opened that first bottle, the Co2 pressure was normal. I'm not really worried about bottle bombs as the attenuation is as an average to this yeast and the FG was...

Kveik -> FG reached -> bottled... Problem?

Is there a difference in the yeasts that how fast they settle out? Because with s04 I didn't have this offlavor after one week. At least so that I could have easily detected it as a bad taste.

Kveik -> FG reached -> bottled... Problem?

I used Voss Kveik for the first time. I used it in the allgrain Neipa recepy I´ve done before with s04. I reached a steady FG in 2 days and bottled in day 4 with priming sugars. Usually after one week in bottles (using s04) I take one bottle to taste and its already tasting good. But now the...

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

Table sugar needs usually 2 weeks. Brewing sugar makes good carbonation in one week. At least in my brews. BU remember that bottle conditioning is more than just carbonation. So 2-3 weeks is my normal "ready beer". But it's nice to taste a bottle in 1 week with good carbonation (at least ipas...

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

I use brewing sugar (pure glucose) from the homebrew shop. Table sugar and corn sugar works also but not as fast. No infections as long as everything is clean. At least I haven't had any infections this way or heard anyone else suffering infections. I think it doesn't differ from using carb...

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

Buy a scale that measures 0.1grams. And use brewersfriend priming calculator.

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

3mins and 20seconds. That's from boiling to fermentation temperature (20celsius). Wow it's fast. I think this is one of the best upgrades I have done since the beginning of the hobby. I love my immersion chiller <3

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

I just wash it with PBW or enzybrew 10 always after the use. That's it. It's as it was when I bought it.

Made it today. So easy to do.

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

Wow. That's fast. I think I must go to buy some copper tubing.

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

Is there any onegalloniers who use immersion chiller? I wonder if it would be worth it to build one. I can chill wery fast in bathtub, but I think immersion chiller could be easier. So if you use one, please tell me how good it is... How fast? And have you built it your self?

New England IPA Blasphemy - No Boil NEIPA

I just brewd 4 minibatches using this no-boil technique. I'm a skeptic, I wanted to do try and do some experiments. So in the first batch I heated the water (but not boiled) added DME and WP hops. In the rest of the batches I just did cold brew, but in the batch 3 I used some water treatment...

New brewpot: tall and narrow vs. wide

Thinking about buying new kettle for smallbatches and biab. The first option is tall and narrow pot and the other one is more wide from the top but not so tall. (The bottom diameter is about the same.) Can anyone tell me the main differences/ advantages/ disadvantages in using one or the...
