    Closed-system pressurized fermentation technique!

I do not believe that this is a pressure relief valve, but a pressure reducing valve. ie from 100 psi to a lower pressure of say 10 psi output. a spunding valve is a pressure relief valve which maintains a set pressure on the supply side ie relieving pressure in excess of the setting. I have...

    yet another Sanke Fermenter Build..

there are several examples of folks just cutting the keg and using the lid. i think the oring takes up most of the variation. i have to put m6 locknuts under the legs of the lid to ensure a good seal on mine. jb

    yet another Sanke Fermenter Build..

Yes I have a model and drawings for the top piece. Let me know what file format you need. In hindsight I do not believe I would go this route. The plastic collar is held on by 6mm weld on studs and sealed with a pair of o rings. If I do another I will simply cut the oval opening and de-burr...

    Question regarding gfci breakers

I am building an electric brew system. I plan on using the 50A gfci breaker in the dist panel for my brew rig and wanted to use the same plug for my AC welder when I am not brewing. Will the breaker trip under load or do I need to install a separate unprotected circuit for the welder? I was...

Help diagnose STC-1000 error "tS" unit frozen, requires unplug to reset

Just fixed one that had the on/off switch soldered in at an angle. Would not work with faceplate and case on it. Worked fine if disassembled. I would check the s switch. May have been bumped and stuck. Jb

    yet another Sanke Fermenter Build..

At last I have all of the pieces for my Fermenter. The goal is to ferment in SS vs Plastic buckets, ferment under pressure, pressure transfer to keg. I am not really driving for Low O2 yet but it is on my mind for the future. I hope to brew this weekend and split the wort to this fermenter and a...

Just got this keg from a friend. Says it's from the 60's

Hello Anyone shed any light on how the tap and faucet are removed from this keg? Looks like a 1/8 turn bayonet style connection but cannot turn far enough to remove. Is there a ball and spring under it that need compressing? Don't want to break anything.

Treat mash and sparge water or just mash water?

So the additions to the mash water would be the post boil volume plus the estimated water loss due to absorption by the grain? Sorry just trying to fully understand the process. jbrown57
