    Yet *another* coopers kit questions

    Dry hop it.

    Alcoholic lemonade

I'm not sure what forum to post this in, but I've got a lemon tree with plenty of ripe lemons on it which I don't want to go to waste. What's a good recipe? I want it to be at least 5% ABV. And yes, I have searched this site for recipes but I gave up after a few minutes of searching because all...

    Re-using yeast

Is it a good idea to buy some high alcohol, high attenuation yeast to brew a strong ale (OG 1.080+) and then re-use that yeast cake from the bottom of the fermenter for other strong ales to save money so I don't have to buy expensive yeast all the time?

Cooper's English Bitte Pre-hopped Liquid Malt Extract Review

Did you use the 1 kit with brew enhancer?

Favorite Belgian extract recipe (finished pics would be great!!)

How the **** did you get the FG so low?

    Coopers yeast

I always rehydrate my dry yeast for 15-30 minutes before pitching. Maybe I should use a liquid yeast for such a brew?

    Coopers yeast

So should I ditch the Coopers yeast if I'm mixing 4 kits together and use some better yeast?
  8. S

    What should I do differently?

Should I also shake the fermenter up periodically during the first few days of fermentation to aerate it?

    Coopers yeast

Something strong, maybe 4 Coopers kits mixed together.

    Strong ale recipe

I want to make a strong pale or brown ale, not too dark. I want the ABV to be around 8-10% and I will be using pre hopped extract. I will be making a 23L batch. I want it to be medium bodied that is easy to drink. Should I use extract alone, or should I add some dextrose? What kind of yeast...

    Coopers yeast

What %ABV are the Coopers kit yeasts good for before I need to ditch it and use high alcohol yeast?

    What should I do differently?

What should I do differently when brewing a high OG extract beer compared to brewing a low OG beer? Other than adding more fermentable sugars (obviously!) and pitching more yeast, what other things should I do?

can you use same fermenter for wine and beer?

I don't see why not. Make sure you clean it very well though.

    Oxidation vs. aeration

I'm a bit confused about the difference between the two, is aeration the intended introduction of oxygen to the wort prior to pitching yeast to provide the yeast with the necessary oxygen to begin fermentation, whereas oxidation is the unwanted introduction of oxygen after fermentation has ended...

When to use a blow-off tube??

Sometimes. I made a stout using 2X Coopers kits and 1kg of dextrose to make a 23L brew in a 30L fermenter. After 2 days I had foam coming out of the airlock, and lots of it so in that case an blow off tube would have been a good idea.

    No rinse sanitizer

There is always about a teaspoon of sanitizer left in my bottles after I have tipped it out, I'm just wandering if it will kill the yeast or leave unwanted flavours? That's also why I use normal tap water in my airlock.

    No rinse sanitizer

On the bottle of some no rinse homebrew sanitizer I have it says "Do not rinse with water". I always rinse my bottles and fermenter out after using no rinse sanitizers because I mix it up in the amount recommended on the label, and I tasted it. It tastes quite salty and I don't want my beer to...

air lock water went into fermenter, twice!

It should be fine. Don't worry.

    Cold Crashing????

Is it a good idea to use finings when cold crashing before racking to a bottling bucket? Or will that cause there to be not enough yeast to carbonate?
  20. S

    Cold Crashing????

Cool it for at least 2 days before bottling. Don't warm it back up before bottling. Get is as cold as possible, without freezing.
