Anybody here attend Siebels or any other kind of brewing school?

I really enjoy making beer and I honestly feel I could make a go at a career. I'm relatively new to brewing but I have an urge to learn as much as a can. I'm at a point in my life where I need to attend school to get ahead. I work way to hard for the money I make at the moment. I'm curious if...

Where does everyone buy their malted grains?

My girlfriend is always making purchases online for her business and its not always cheaper to buy Canadian. A lot of times things come from as far as Florida faster and cheaper than somewhere much closer but in Canada. Kind of aggravating actually.

Where does everyone buy their malted grains?

I should also point out I have used the search. Curious if anyone has a favourite place with cheap shipping and a good experience with the company.

Where does everyone buy their malted grains?

Hey everyone, I posted a few days ago about malting my own barley. I got some useful info, but also a lot of people saying its not worth it. My question now is, where does everyone get their grains? I've called a few local places around here (Kimberley BC Canada) and nobody does all...

I need a jumping off point. Little help?

I like this. I thought of a similar method. I wanted to make a beer with the same malt every time (the control). But each batch would have hops added at a different time in the boil so I could see the variations in flavour vs aroma. I got discouraged when I realized the amount of work and the...

I need a jumping off point. Little help?

Sweet. I'm waiting to hear back from the company I bought my barley from to find out what type it is. I made a batch (1 gal) of beer a week ago with about 1.5 lb of my malt and mystery hop pellets I got (pocketed) from a beer and food pairing I accidentally showed up at with the head brew...

I need a jumping off point. Little help?

I agree. I got hooked on the method, although the only beer from Brooklyn brew shop I really enjoyed was the Everyday IPA. Looking into it more deeply, I found that I know nothing. TIL BIAB stands for Brew in a bag.

I need a jumping off point. Little help?

Also, I realize my question is asking a lot. I don't expect a definitive answer because beer making isn't black and white. I just want to get involved in this community because I really like making beer and no matter what I Google, I end up here.

I need a jumping off point. Little help?

Haha, you did over do it Tre9er. But I like hearing how other people do it because I was basically having Uncle Google teach me how to brew until I signed up here. I am still very new but I've done some 1 gal batches from http://brooklynbrewshop.com/. Those kits got me hooked. I should have...

I need a jumping off point. Little help?

Bought a 50lb bag of organic whole barley. Its hard to find resources about it as it seems its not very popular, a lot of work and inconsistent results. I made my first AG beer in December 2011 and it seems as though I'm addicted. I love doing things from scratch but I'm a little overwhelmed at...

    jumping in

I'm pretty new to AG. I had a good laugh at your first sentence. I am going through the same thing. Ask my girlfriend. She might leave me if I don't shut up about brewing.

I need a jumping off point. Little help?

Hey guys, I am pretty new to all grain. Mostly working with 1 gal until I get a good technique going. I have been malting my own barley and have a few lbs of finished pale malt. I also just got in the mail some whole leaf hops. Centennial, Nugget, Saaz and Cascade. The Centennial and Cascade was...

Fairly new to brewing and slightly in over my head.

Hey guys, I'm pretty new to this. I don't post on forums ever so even doing this I feel I may be in over my head. But anyways, I've been brewing wine from kits for several years. I decided that I was tired of drinking kits and realized I didn't have a pallet for wine, or beer for that...
