Sorry about that! Try again. Basically, 9.6% AA based on the data I put in.

    Water cooler dispenser

For beer? You wouldn't be able to carbonate in the water jugs that typically go onto the dispenser. And if you could it would foam like crazy when dispensing.

If you have BeerSmith there is a calculator for hop aging based off AA and HSI as well as storage method.

Hose Connection and Faucet Acces on Utility Sink

I have a utility sink in the basement that I hook my RV water line hose to for filling my kettle. I like to keep it hooked up most of the time because it's easier to clean my equipment that way. I want to be able to use the faucet as well so need some type of splitter. Would something like...

    another kegging off flavor question

It could contribute to oxidation. Not sure I've seen anything definitive, but it's probably a good idea to purge the oxygen from the keg before carbonating. Like many things in homebrewing, lighter beers are harder to hide off flavors.

    another kegging off flavor question

When you hook it up to the gas, do you purge the headspace from the keg using the pressure relief valve? I give it a few 3 second burps once it's on CO2.

Will this cheap 3500 watt induction burner work?

Ha! No worries! I was on a brewing hiatus for well over a year so I haven't been around much at all. The heat time I was comparing against was also using a neoprene keg sleeve vs. the reflectix on my kettle. So there is that as well. I am looking to get a new kettle for Xmas from my kids...

    Troubleshooting a metallic taste

How did you carbonate? Did you set it to serving pressure and let it sit for a few weeks? Or did you put it at a higher PSI for a shorter period to try to speed up the carbonation process? You wrote that you force carbed it, not sure if that means you burst carbed it. Forced carbonation just...

Will this cheap 3500 watt induction burner work?

Is anyone using a tri-ply/tri-clad bottom kettle with their Avantco IC3500?? With a single layer of reflectix on my Bayou Classic 1044 (non tri-clad): Starting with 8 gallons at 58* 94* at 16 minutes 160* at 46 minutes 212* at 72 minutes I'd like to see how that compares to something with a...

Should I be doing a Cereal Mash for my Flaked Oats & Flaked wheat?

Flaked Oats/wheat are already pre-gelatinized so they can go right in the mash.

CO2 Purged PET Bottle or Vacuum Sealed Ball Jar for Hop Storage?

I have a stainless carbonator cap and some amber PET bottles. I could fill the PET bottle with bulk hops, attach the cap and purge the CO2. Downside is I'd have to swap out the cap for a regular bottle cap, potentially letting in some oxygen. (fast forward to 2 minutes, 6 seconds)...

You know you're a home brewer when?

So true. We had construction LAST summer and I took a hiatus. Well, THIS summer folks were asking me what I'd been brewing and my 9 month old excuse fell flat.

    My Wooden Jockey Box 2.0

Jockey boxes are used for serving already cool and carbonated kegs in temporary locations like a BBQ, event, etc. The kegs would sit in a beverage bucket/trash barrel/etc on ice and feed into the jockey box.

    Beer not carbonating

I assume you were bottle conditioning at room temps? 68 - 72'ish? if so, nothing with the amount of sugar is the problem, if anything there was slightly too much. I had this happen to me with an Oatmeal Stout. It just never carbonated. Had me questioning my sanity on if I ever added the sugar...

    PicoBrew Pico users

Doug simply stated the policy on distilling. Did not state you were discussing it. But that they are reviewing the policy to see how this fits in. Again, patience.
