    Will 240v 30amp controller work on 240v 20amp circuit?

Did you end up changing from the 3500W induction burner? I’m thinking of doing the same and have the same setup as you.

Moving from Induction to a Controller/Element - Wiring Question

The SS Brewtech has a 5500w element. So looks like I’ll have to rewire in that scenario. There are other ones I’m looking at that have 4500w elements. In hat scenario I’d need to be sure if there was a pump that it’s powered separately.

Moving from Induction to a Controller/Element - Wiring Question

If I can use that adapter linked, then no wiring needs to happen. If I can't use that adapter then it could be because I shouldn't run that controller off the current wiring. If that's the case then it isn't just "a receptacle". I don't know enough about it to make the call, thus why I asked.

Moving from Induction to a Controller/Element - Wiring Question

I currently use the Avantco IC3500 and had an outlet installed to support it years ago. The IC3500 uses a NEMA 6-20P plug. I am thinking of getting the SS Brewtech 1V system which uses a L6-30 plug. Can I use an adapter like this or should I have my electrician come back and rewire?

First time racking to keg, have I left too much head space?

When you carb with CO2 the process is to pull the pressure relief valve (burp) to expel the O2 and fill with CO2. But when naturally carbing I'm not sure what the analog to that is. As mentioned above, burping in this case may cause an undercarbonation issue.

Thanks. That's what I was afraid of.

    First all-grain BIAB

How is the water where you are? I have never treated my water and my beer is fine. That is not to say you SHOULDN'T treat your water, just that you may not have to.

First time racking to keg, have I left too much head space?

Looks good to me. I ferment in kegs so need a little headspace to avoid blowoff from fermentation. So when I rack to the serving keg there is a decent amount of headspace, probably like what you have there. Question to those that naturally carb in the keg: Should OP "burp" the keg as it starts...

    My Weldless Build Using Strut

Whew. Read through this whole thread yesterday. Great thread, awesome rigs. Thanks OP. I am looking to build one for BIAB. There are a few plans that would work that I have seen, but they were basically adapted two station setups. Does anyone have any plans or pictures of a single station BIAB...

    boil time and original gravity

In addition to this, the DME may not have been thoroughly mixed in giving you a lower reading.

    boil time and original gravity

What was the volume when you stopped the boil after 60 minutes? I don't think you would have hit 1.055 with 6 gallons at 1.014 unless you boiled down to ~1.5 gallons. https://www.brewersfriend.com/dilution-and-boiloff-gravity-calculator/

Technique to add grain to strike water solo

I use a Home Depot bucket and rest it on my shoulder. Then I tip it forward slowly to control the flow of grain while I stir with the other hand. Edited to add: This is for 5 gallon batches and about 9-11 lbs of grain.
