Add Cranberries and a hint of Maple syrup to round out the bitterness. Or make is with orange peel or orange/cranberry.

    Older brewers techniques.

I think you are right about kegs being better for Lagers and Hoppy beers. BUT, certain beers are better in bottles. I mainly keg but, I recently bottled Belgian Golden Ale, Belgian Dark Strong Ale, Belgian Dubbel, Belgian Trippel, Belgian Quad and a Belgian Wit. So, each has it's purpose. Come...

    Which Fruit in Saison?

I am not so sure that it would be enforceable on homebrewers. Oregon is trying to keep up with California as far as Crazy laws, rules, and regulations.

    Which Fruit in Saison?

My cousin has two Persimmon trees and they are overwhelmingly inundated with them. I got about 25 pounds. I was thinking that I would cut into small pieces and place half in the boil and then the other half with two weeks to go in the fermenter.... the fermentation addition would have to be...

Has anyone ever brewed with Persimmons as the fruit in a Saison or any other type like a Hefeweizen or Belgian wit?

Right now I have a regular size Torpedo keg and three ball lock corny kegs in my Komos V2... But, I do need just a wee bit of duct tape to get it to close....

New house - clearance from my wife for brew room - vent or steam condenser

You guys have been looking at this all wrong..... Why not kill two birds with one stone? So, while brewing, close up all the windows, vents, and doors. Then get a high output heater..... Now you have a brew room and a sauna that smells wonderful.....This would allow you to drink beer and lose...

Komos V2 Kegerator, compressor not coming on, it is making the clicking noise but is not coming on

Mine has started making a clicking noise but I believe it has nothing to do with the compressor, in my case. It keeps cycling through and it is maintaining a fairly constant temp......

Make your own beer, they said. You'll save money, they said.

I wish I could have got off that cheap. I am up to $4k.... I bought not one, but two Grainfathers ($1000 ea.) and neither boil so now I am looking at a 220/240v System..... That should be cheap, right?

    All-grain Curious

I have been brewing since 1985, probably long than most of these IPA and BIAB snobs have been alive... You stick to what works for you and I will do what works for me. The blogger asked for opinions, however some people cannot accept different views, reminds me of politics...Funny, how ONLY ON...

    All-grain Curious

That is true, its my opinion. Which is what the initial conversation was asking for...opinions. My experience is that the BIAB beer is subpar compared to real brewing methods.

Dear Mister Predicted Scoffer, some people think eating snails are great, but not for everyone. I totally stand by my CORRECT and PROVEN statements.

More shopping advice: Torpedo vs Corney Kegs

I have two Torpedo Kegs ( 5 gallon) and I do love the quality and that they can stack BUT I just bought a Komos Kegerator and it will fit 4 kegs in it but, because the Torpedo is Fatter I can only place one Torpedo keg and three regular corny kegs in it if I duct tape it shut..... I cannot have...

    All-grain Curious

You get what you pay for... I have learned the buy once, cry once theory...Get what you need and not what you can get by with only finding you have to upgrade in 6 months to a year...Forget BIAB period. A lot of BIAB users will scoff about what I am going to say, but, remember miserly loves...

    Yeast Prices - What happened?!!

You must be looking for Imperial yeast which is more expensive. The cheapest I have seen for Imperial is Brewchatter.com but is still $9.99 and they include free ice packs.

    Yeast Prices - What happened?!!

You must be looking at Northern Brewer... They are ALWAYS the high price leader... Look at Morebeer.com for all you needs... They are quick to deliver, unless you get your stuff from PA.... in that case you are going to have to wait 8-10 just like Northern Brewer.
