    Warning signs of homebrew addiction

How about when you are showing off pictures of a fermentation in your carboy to coworkers from your phone like it is your child's first steps.

    What are you drinking now?

Cowboy coffee porter by big sky brewing, great beer

    Alternative Brewing

Now this is what I want from this thread! I love some Belgian brews and have always been interested in open fermentation. I have also been interested in fermenter geometry and looser temp controls for different ester production. I have read plenty on this but experimented very little with it...

    What are you drinking now?

Ommegong addoration, one of the best winter beers I have had all season

"Guilty" confessions of a beer enthusiast

I agree here. Busch was the go to beer when floating the Illinois river, and you never cared if a little river water for in your beer :)

"Guilty" confessions of a beer enthusiast

I love that other disc golfers who drink good beer prefer cheap fizzy water beer on the course. My go to is natty light tall boys, mostly cause it actually gets a little flavor when it warns up in your bag.

    Alternative Brewing

Where I have to agree with OP is that you have to do some things out of the box, but mostly to be able to understand the result. I personally have no opinion on not chilling my wort, because it is a practice I don't use. I think you have to do it and see what happens to be able to comment on...

    What are you drinking now?

Old ale aged on oak chips for 2 months. Really nice vanilla character and dry finish, so sad I only have 3 22's of it left.

    Trappistes Rochefort 10

This is my desert island beer, I have been in love with this beer for so long and it never fails to make me happy. Actually visited the monastery on my honeymoon and drinking one after that was an unreal experience. Also by visited the monastery, I mean we got to look through the windows and...

    Salvator Double Bock

This beer is one of my faves, but I have also used it to turn several people onto good beer. One of my buddies who used to be a coors light guy only drinks this now, and ironically is also a jeep fanatic...go figure :)

    Ayinger Celebrator Double Bock

I am curious if OP is a hop head? Unlike most, my gateway to good beer was not an IPA. I got turned on by optimator and have loved huge malty beers ever since, I also love me some belgians. As for other styles I seem to enjoy them all, except maybe rauchbier which i have never found one that...

    What are you drinking now?

Oatmeal stout homebrew while making a starter, I love homebrewing!

    Alternative Brewing

I still say you are making prison hooch. Put your beers up against some Firestone Walker, Odell's, Ommegang, or any other exceptional brewery (see GABF winners) and then see how you like your alternative brews. If your motive is to make cheap quick beer, why go all grain? To settle all this...

    Alternative Brewing

I believe when I was new to homebrewing I always felt the majority of my beer was sh*t, with a few good ones sneaking through. Those good beers inspired me to improve all my processes in a 'traditional' manner, which resulted in a much improved percentage of really good beers. I can easily...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Breaking out the Christmas gifts, gonna do a weizenbock ale in my new better bottle and make a huge starter for this big brew with my new stir plate. Love playing with Christmas toys.

    Quick Disconnects

Proly not, I have used them with my stand 4 times and you can tell they have been used. They are gonna end up in my random hardware drawer in the garage. Who knows I may use them for something in the distant future.

    Stirred Fermentation

Thanks for doing this, I am mainly commenting because it will be easier to track this post and I am very interested in how this turns. I just got my first stir plate for Christmas and have always wondered about yeast agitation during fermentation. I thought I read in Yeast by JZ that there was...

    Quick Disconnects

I just have to post this on here. If you are using pumps on a brew stand buy the quick disconnects the first time. I recently built a Brutus clone and thought I would save $100-$200 by using garden hose fittings. After my fifth brew on the stand, and multiple sets of busted knuckles and cuts...
