    'NewB'rewer in Seattle

Hi from Seattle! I’ve been using Brewer’s Friend but have recently started using Brewfather. It’s a web based app which can be accessed anywhere there’s internet. I has great calculators plus an auto complete water calculator (once you input your parameters). It also works with my Bluetooth...

Anyone have a recipe for Lush?

Cool. That’s good to know. Yeah, that’s weird about color consistency with their batches. I didn’t use cryo Citra like they mention on their site so I’ll use that this time around. I’ll also have all the components for fermenting low oxygen and under pressure this time around.

Anyone have a recipe for Lush?

Already planning to do round 2. @jkovac how was the 4lbs of honey malt? Just right or did it need more? I’ve ordered bulk this time because I’m determined to get this right. Not too bad. Around $150 total. 55 pounds of 2 row, 10 pounds of honey malt. And 1 pound each of Citra and Mosaic. I’ll...

Do you need a 1 off Stainless part built for your system? Let's discuss it.

Awesome! Mine is out for delivery today too! After seeing your photo I can’t wait! I’m also receiving Jay’s Krausen Catcher (when I don’t need to spund) https://www.norcalbrewingsolutions.com/store/Ultimate-CO2-Canning-Jar-Harvesting-Kit.html and yeast harvester with gas exhaust port (so I can...

    Tilt Hydrometer

I found his to be very true. The water calculator on Brewfather is something worth checking out too.

New member and brewer from Minnesota

I have NPT fittings. This was before Spike offered the tri-clamp line. I probably would’ve gone with the T.C. ports. Even though some say it’s easier to clean and sanitize it is also a lot more parts to clean. But I don’t regret that I don’t have it. Just have to get in there with a bristle...

Hi Todd, Sorry, I should’ve spelled it out. Brew In A Bag. All grain brewing all in one vessel. You mash in a huge grain bag much like specialty grains but with all the grain. Take the bag out after an hour. From here there are several methods: pull the bag and boil (no drain) or pull the bag...

New member and brewer from Minnesota

Welcome from Seattle. I have a 10 gallon spike kettle and it’s gorgeous. I used it on my 1800w induction. It gets to temp for mashing fine but takes forever (over an hour) for the boil. If you have 3000w stove then go for it. It should get to boil in about 30-40 minutes. But the kettle is...

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

Much appreciated, Bobby. I’m receiving your condenser kit tomorrow! Unfortunately my kettle just arrived at Spike’s shop. So I’m hoping to test it out by next weekend. Thanks again!

(e)BIAB vs. 3-vessel - Give me your opinions!

Hi! Exciting times for you it seems. It’s always fun to plan out your future brewery. Congrats! I just went through this process this past summer. Here’s a link to a thread with someone who is going through the same thing...

Anyone have a recipe for Lush?

So, wow ... I ran out of CO2 and switched to nitro. I have about 3 liters left. The hops come through so much that It becomes a soft juice bomb. Cloudy because I decided to give the keg a shake.

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

Thank you! Edit: the brass is ok vs SS version or does it matter? Edit 2: @BrunDog just backtracked and read your “rust” post. Was this resolved? What version did you end up using?

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

Hi Bobby. Thanks again for putting these condensers together. Mine should be here next week. I ordered the 6 after reading some experiences. Is there a way I can order a 9 sprayer to switch it out? Is that possible? Thanks for any answers.

Anyone have experience with Morebeer glycol chiller

I will be interested in your experience.

Anyone have experience with Morebeer glycol chiller

Yeah, there’s no way I’d have this inside. Now that it’s at temp it only kicks on to maintain it. Not too annoying, really. I also listened to a youtuber’s post of their 3/8 HP Ss brewtech and it’s about the same level of noise when it’s actively cooling.

3 in 1 BIAC vs doing this all over again but electric this time

That’s freaking awesome! So very happy for you. Like I mentioned before if I had to do it all over I’d choose stout even though I love my Spike system with no buyers remorse (just a little jealousy). Glad to pass on my experience to you. We totally somewhat took the same route. If I had to buy...
