New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

It's all good. Thanks! Pro brewers as just homebrewers who work on bigger systems and do it for a living. Just because they're pros doesn't mean they do everything in the best way possible. They need to brew quickly and cost effectively. When homebrewing, you can go over the top with...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Honestly, no. I'm not. I would never be able to brew a beer and hop it this way then brew another beer and hop it "normally" and test them because they would be different ages with other subtle differences. How do you know every other variable between the beers was exactly the same? You...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

No man, there's about 13 gallons in there.

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

So I finally used this thing. I dry hopped my beer with ~2.5 pounds of pellets and it worked perfectly. I pulled 30" Hg in the chamber with the vacuum pump and pressurized it with 20 psi CO2 four times (suck, pressurize, suck, pressurize, suck, pressurize, suck, pressurize) before dumping the...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

"Biotransformation" is definitely not the key to a hazy IPA and not even necessary to brew a killer NEIPA. I tried it a few times and never bother with it anymore.

    Not brewing for a while..

Never, ever give beer to anyone who expects it or won't appreciate it. Screw those people. Just brew a batch. You'll probably get back into it.

    Philadelphia Bottle Shops

Tired Hands should be on the top of your list! It's the best and most interesting beer in the Philly area in my opinion and there are always cans for sale these days. Visit the Cafe, the Fermentaria, and the General Store. They are all right in the same area.

Thanks, man! I decided on Galaxy, Mosaic, and Mandarina. I'm brewing right now :mug:

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I'm getting ready to brew a batch this weekend with whatever hops I have laying around and I'm looking for some ideas. I have a few, but curious if anyone comes up with something I haven't thought of. I still have time to buy dry hops, so feel free to recommend something that isn't listed...

    Make IPA Clear Again

Asinine or not, this is the world we live in, so you have to adapt. The bottom line is that you can't rely on a stupid restaurant to accurately describe beers, especially if you are supposedly into beer. To expect otherwise is asinine. Restaurants are clueless about beer. You need to do you...

    Make IPA Clear Again

If all you're concerned about is a beer's appearance, then yes, 3 seconds on google or untapped will solve all of your problems and ensure that you get the clear beer that you desire.

    Make IPA Clear Again

I can not imagine going anywhere, ordering a beer, and not having any idea what I will get. I think you complainers need to get out more, drink more beer, get accustomed to the times, and do 3 seconds of searching on line before you order something. You have only yourself to blame. If you...

    Brewing with Aphids

I had the exact same thing happen to me. I left some hops on the counter for a few hours and millions of aphids came out of the hops and covered the counter. The hops went directly into the trash. Disgusting.

    Make IPA Clear Again

Everything Nagorg says makes it clear that he doesn't have much experience brewing and tasting the finest IPAs. Hopefully nobody believes the nonsense.

    Cold Crashing / Mylar Balloon

The EJ Beverage Ultra Barrier Silver tubing that I use in my keezer sucks. It does not live up the the hype. It stained immediately and I think it's giving off-flavors. Any beer left in the tubing gets extremely oxidized in less than 24 hours. I have no idea if this differs from what was...

Decent Sawzall for a good price?

Many people who use these tools daily like Milwaukee the best. I have had a Ryobi reciprocating saw since about 1995 and have used other peoples Milwaukee Sawzalls since about the same time. The Ryobi is fine, but it's definitely not something you will love to use. Mine broke 10 years ago and...

    Other hobbies?

Nice! I also like building and modifying stereo components. I have some Magnepans that I plan on actively bi-amping with a Marchand crossover as soon as I get off my wallet and decide on what amps to use. Did you design and build that phono preamp (or whatever it is) yourself?

Yeah, I know, based on every other way I have minimized or eliminated O2 :mug:

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Hell yeah, man! Sweet! It looks like you can fit a good amount of hops in that chamber. A little extra money upfront is totally worth making every batch easier, quicker, and possibly better. What size valve is that, and have you tried it yet? How did the hops dump for you?
