Always take gravity readings. One when you rack to your primary and then take one after 5 days or so. If it drops you've had fermentation. Much more reliable.

Have the Anvil and it's on the bottom too. Had extract trip it on me as well. Had no idea where the hell it was lol. Wound up contacting Anvil to find out. Meanwhile finished that batch in my propane setup.

Same, I brewed today on the 10.5 and got 63%. Was hoping for better since I milled at the smallest gap. I'll have to give the lift and stir a try. I've noticed some have blocked of the side holes and claim it increases there efficiency.

I keep my kegs at serving pressure, usually around 12-13 psi. Beer has lasted quite a while, many months in some cases. Not sure if that was what you were after but there's my 2 cents 🍻

I would give it time. I've had some big beers where the final few points took another week or so. I usually take a gravity reading at the 7-10 day Mark, wait 3 days and check again. If it hasn't moved at all I'll give it a few more days and check again before packaging. Sometimes on that final...

I bought mine in January. Seems like it came sooner then I'd expected. Want to say 5-6 days? Don't remember for sure though. Hope it makes for the weekend it's fun to use🍻

I'd say it's optional with any style, but especially with a stout there's no need for clarity. I wouldn't do it personally.

Agree with VikeMan, way to early to judge final bitterness Even if it is still a lot at bottling time, hops lose there potency over time. You could let it sit in bottles for a month or so and go back to it.

If you bottled in glass then there is no visual way to check, if in plastic you can squeeze the bottles and if there hard, no laughing, then it's carbing. If it's not a big beer, I usually give it 10 days then throw 1 in the fridge for a few hours and drink it to see where it's at. If it is...
