    Raspberry Pi Control Box

You might want to look into Brucontrol as well if you havent already just as another option that might fit the bill better for growth and support down the road.... Its arduino based and not free but it has a huge amount of people including myself using it. and its reliable, enough so that I...

    Scorched RIMS tube

Unfortunately when it comes to step mashing those types of adjuncts from that temp, This is an issue even the lowest watt density elements struggle with as a slimy buildup coats the elements. Ive run into it my myself with rye and had to dump 100 gallons of wort at the pub.

Is anyone using a Penguin Glycol Chiller?

I was going to say, it looks galvanized to me as well.

Is anyone using a Penguin Glycol Chiller?

I recommended it as an option IF the tank was sweating due to poor design and insufficient insulation to begin with.. All the professionally designed chillers Ive seen have foam insulation between the inner and outer tank liner to prevent sweating and to make the unit more efficient. You can...

Is anyone using a Penguin Glycol Chiller?

If the condensate is coming from the temp of a concrete floor under the cooling tank, I would create more distance between the floor and botton of chiller tank, if the tank itself is sweating its an indication its poorly insultated and you can try insulting it further with some form of spray or...

Meet Thing 1. A 5Kw Induction All In One...

I dont know how quick induction heats but with a regular element I would go the other way and put the control down to 1 second myself if anything... 10 seconds will cause the element surface to get much hotter than setpoint and you will have a constant over shoot condition I believe. I believe...

    Stainless fermenter... yes or no?

The most I paid for any of my stainless conical fermentors at home was $350. Bought one used and 2 new off ebay (they cannot hold more than 2psi pressure though).. Got a free chiller from work myself and I used ghetto 1.5" blue discharge hose for effective jacketing and $4 solenoid valves to...

    Stainless fermenter... yes or no?

Unitanks arent necessarily for serving from. they are mainly designed to serve the function of both the primary fermenter and the secondary brite tank. while its true you could serve from it, that not often the typical use. some smaller brew pubs do it if they do not keg or sell beer other than...

    Stainless fermenter... yes or no?

when My glass carboy exploded it had a rubber stopper and plugged airlock in place.... even after it exploded from the built up pressure. I realise this is less likely to happen with plastic but its worth mentioning.

    Stainless fermenter... yes or no?

I completely understand but as I saw it, at the same time this thread was about opinions on best over all performing fermenters not cheapest, most expensive or even most cost effective. So im commenting on the fermenter and its performance capabilites which are up to the brewer to see or take...

    Stainless fermenter... yes or no?

a real conical bottom fermenter with a dump valve would give you more benefit than a stainless bucket which mainly has durability advantages over plastic buckets. a unitank has more advantage depending on process and other equipment used.

    Experiences with Sungood Machinery?

The tariffs in the states vary and only apply to some types of brewery equipment.. Theres a lot of misinformation about them online it seems.

    Experiences with Sungood Machinery?

I'll share my experiences with what I bought. The three 3.5 bbl dual zone jacketed conical unitanks with site glasses and hardware like racking arms, cip ball, valves and spunding valves, came to about 11k with customs and shipping fees or about 3,700 shipped to our building each.... Now we dont...

    Recognize this brew cask?

We purchased one of these "cask widges" along with an anagram beer engine... I'm still looking for a cheap chest freezer to keep the cask in to keep it at a stable cellar temp at the brewpub so we havent used it yet

    Experiences with Sungood Machinery?

I have purchased a bunch of 3bbl and 3.5bbl tanks from him over the last few years.. They are one of the manufacturers for stout equipment as well so if youve seen the welds on the stout nanobrewing equipment in this size range you you can use those for reference. To me the quality has been very...

    Grainfather Glycol Chiller

I have 2 setups... 4 conicals at home 3 of them are 12-13 gallon and one 7.3gallon. I have a 1/3 hp chiller and its more than enough to control all four at once. (I got the chiller free from work where it was being replaced along with new related equipment. IMO any 1/4hp or larger chiller should...

Electric Kettle Rims Basement Brewery Setup

I used small metal pans under my pump heads to catch any spills when connecting and disconnecting camloks/hoses at first and then I got smart and just designed a plumbed system which allowed me to perform the whole brewing process by just turning some 3 way valves without connecting or...
