    Danby Kegerator Wiring

Does anyone have pictures or schematics of the wiring for a Danby Chill N Tap kegerator? I picked one up and the thermostat quickly went out on it. I've built a STC1000 temp control unit, but I need to bypass the thermostat in the Danby. I did a Google search and didn't come up with much. The...

Help me convert my Extract set-up to AG

I did my first all grain (using a MT) batch this past weekend using this method. Worked great and I didn't have to lift a lot of water like I had to for BIAB. Using a MT made clean up easier for me as well.

    Bought my first kegerator

I bought a used one that is similar. The Danby's are known to have horrible thermostats that don't last. Mine doesn't work and I am building a temp control unit to bypass the built in thermostat. Other than that, they are nice units.

North Carolina 12" SS Bazooka Screen

I pushed mine flat a couple inches from the end (the closed end), then just folded it over. The round part of the screen still hits the other side of my mash tun.

North Carolina 12" SS Bazooka Screen

You can bend it to make it fit your kettle. That's what I did with a 12" one for my mash tun. Sorry to hijack.

    Caribou Slobber

I've made this many times. Always had good results. I've got a Slobber in a primary now. I believe I've got a stalled fermentation. Pitch temp was 65F. Had nice fermentation the first 24 hours, then stopped. I haven't checked SG yet. I used Nottingham yeast. This is one of my favorite beers and...

    Writing on Bottles

I bought a pack of round 3/4" stickers from Staples. I can print the name of the beer, ABV and bottle date on them. Then put the sticker on the bottle cap. Works nice.

NB Bourbon Barrel Porter - Awesome from the start

I love this extract kit! It's actually the only extract I brew now (I mostly all-grain). This beer gets better with age. My last batch I made, I let age for 6 months before drinking. Tasted fantastic. I just finished off the last bottle about a month ago (1 year after brewing), it was the best...

    Extract brewing question

I'm on the doesn't matter list as well. I've done it both ways and couldn't tell the difference.

Can a Bazooka screen work for a mash tun?

Something to keep in mind... I picked up a 5 gal cooler at Menards when they had them on sale. The bazooka screen is much longer than the diameter of the cooler. I will have to shorten the bazooka screen.

Questions after second all grain batch

I would agree with this. I lowed the boil temps after my first couple AG batches and had less loss due to boil.

    Recipe for American Wheat

Don't know if you're doing BIAB or multi-vessel AG. If you're using a mash tun, you might want to add a cup or so of rice hulls. Not needed if you're doing BIAB. Recipe sounds good. I've used ale yeast with wheat beers with good results. Or you could try a Kolsh yeast. I'd put in the zest and...

Brew in a Bag a Good Transition to All Grain Brewing Without Intimidation

I bought a grate for a round charcoal grill at Home Depot. It fits on the top of my 10 gal kettle to rest the bag of grains on.
