Any Woodworkers out there? Help please

Check out Grizzly or Porter Cable. I've bought some stuff - not power tools - and the quality is pretty good. Have a Porter Cable table saw, router and biscuit joiner and they're all pretty good. Avoid Harbor Freight like the plague.

    20% abv beer, 100%fail.

I said I was going to demonstrate my ignorance - you didn't have to CALL me on it....;) I never really thought about the "FG" number he posted.....:D He "finished" where most of my beers START....:D

Smoked & Deviled Scotch Eggs with Bacon

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD!!! I MUST make this - even though this is a lousy time of year to use the smoker. (Too cold) Only thing is, hard boiled eggs give me the toxic wastes....maybe I can make smoke rings with these babies.....

how does this recipe sound? ( chili beer)

Dried might work. I had some commercially produced chili beer - with a jalapeño in the bottle - and while the HEAT of the pepper in the beer was fun, the vegetal flavor from the pepper was NASTY !!!

Dark beers taste great, lighter beers taste like pool water

Speaking from a horrific experience where I snuffed a lot of my tropical fish during a water change- they periodically shock the water system.... The day I chose to clean my tank was one of them, and the usual amount of chlorine neutralizer was nowhere near sufficient....

    20% abv beer, 100%fail.

Ok, I'll demonstrate my ignorance here.... Couldn't he brew a small batch of something really hoppy and then blend it a little at a time to balance the sweetness?

    Counter Pressure Bottle Filler.

...but that's too simple! :D ....and it would mean I'd have to get off my ass and replace my cheap-ass faucets with Perlicks, like I've been threatening to do for....two years...? :D

    Counter Pressure Bottle Filler.

Ah, but I won't have anything invested but my time - and even then, I'll be on the clock at work....;)

    Counter Pressure Bottle Filler.

So, after much reading and digging, I've come to the conclusion I'm going to make one of my own design - and stress the "cool factor". (Thinking of making the body of the thing look like a six shooter, all stainless, etc.) I love gross overkill!:D Anyway, if I understand the principle of the...

    Commercial Beer Yeast Harvest List

Anyone harvested yeast from Westvleteren 12 ? Got a bottle sitting in my beere fridge and didn't wantt to crack into it until I knew if/how to harvest.

    Counter Pressure Bottle Filler.

I'm looking for a way to fill bottles from my kegs and the Blichmann Beer Gun looks like the ticket. However, being cheap, and somewhat clever, I'd like to try and make my own. (Besides, being a toolmaker, with lots of material and equipment at my disposal, I think I can build a COOLER one :D)...

    A few efficiency questions

If that's the norm, I am sparging WAAAAAY too fast - like, 15 minutes....

    A few efficiency questions

I'll have to try that, next batch. In reading some other threads on here, I think I'm draining the runoff WAAAAAYYYY too fast when sparging, too. I'm not taking anywhere near as long as most folks say they are.

    A few efficiency questions

Hmmm. Not very good - even allowing for the fudge factor of the imprecise quantity of water in the fermenter. I'd say I need to work on my mashing technique.... Is there a better way to control temps besides "dump some hot water in, stir, hope, and measure"? Does the PH play into it at all?

    A few efficiency questions

I think I hit the five gallon mark - based on the notoriously inaccurate "lines on the bucket"....;) I'm not super concerned about this batch - it'll be fine, I'm sure - just looking to learn a little.

    A few efficiency questions

Did my second AG batch*, and, for simplicity's sake, I used Northern Brewer's Belgian Strong Golden Ale kit. (SGA is my "house beer" and I was looking for a starting recipe). My OG was SUPPOSED to be 1.081 but was 1.07 - checked with both a hydrometer and a refractometer. Is this a huge...

? about Sprecher Root Beer Soda Syrup

Ok, one bit of info I can't seem to find anywhere: what do they SWEETEN their syrup with? Sugar? HFCS?

    Second stuck fermentation

For quick and dirty purposes, I used some online instructions. I never calculated the size. Somewhere since, I've read recommended starter sizes.http://www.howtobrew.com/section1/chapter6-5.html Here is the how-to, but no calculations. Y'know, that might just be the difference between these...

    Second stuck fermentation

I recently brewed a Cranberry Braggot from the Sam Calagione book. It fermented pretty vigorously, came down about halfway and stalled. I repitched, it came down a little more and stalled again, so I said "screw it" and kegged it. (Sorry, my notes are home, so I don't remember OG and FG...
