Brewhemoth conical clean in place (CIP) systems

I ran into the same thing. I've now run three clean cycles through my brewhemoth and the first one came out a bit oily and grimy. I noticed when inspecting the inside prior to cleaning it that there appeared to be a bit of gunk and grime on the inside. I chalked it up to the fabrication...

American Pale Ale Russian River Row 2 Hill 56 Clone

I almost never secondary anymore. I dry hop this, and most of my hoppy beers in the keg with a nylon hop bag. The hop bag stays in there from the time I seal up the keg after racking, until the keg kicks, though I rarely have a keg of this last longer than a month.

American Pale Ale Russian River Row 2 Hill 56 Clone

I don't normally convert recipes to extract, so hopefully someone else can chime in with something more precise. Switching base malts to this should get you close, and switch from mashing the C20 to steeping it. 11.7 oz Caramel/Crystal Malt - 20L (20.0 SRM) Grain 1...

20 Best beers in the World

With no mention of bud lime I can only call shenanigans.

20 Best beers in the World

The original list is a total joke, most of the beers on it don't belong in the top 50. Lists like this are highly subjective, but at least the ratebeer lists are based on the aggregated member scoring.

    Slanting yeast

I pulled out these plates today that I had done with 400ml of sterile wort as describe above and inoculated all of them with Pacman from a starter I had going. Here's the first plate I pulled out.. not what I wanted to see. The rest of the plates look like this. I was very relieved...

New way to control Pellet Hop gunk!

Well send em up to me and I'll test em out for ya ;) :D :drunk:

New way to control Pellet Hop gunk!

Those look awesome! Have you used them yet? My only concern looking at the top is that I'd expect pellet hops to flow freely through there getting hop gunk loose into the beer. Any idea on what the expected cost might be?

Ways store associates respond (that make you want to set them on fire)

Can we get this thread renamed to "Way customers behave that makes you want lobotomize them"?

    Call Of Duty

I'd consider that both gentlemanly and a good use of tactics. Unpatched exploits are the real problem, and why I never both playing COD online anymore.

    Thanks Secret Santa!!

If you ever get a chance give it another try Supplication isn't favorite RR sour, but is definitely an acquired taste!

    Brewhemoth conicals?

I ran another test with 3gal of hot water, and 1.5 scoops of oxy. It foamed right to the top of the bucket but never went over. So at least for the first real cleaning attempt I'll try oxy, hopefully at .5 scoop per gal it's strong enough to remove the krausen ring/ferm residue I ordered...

I like this time at night on HBT

I hate the way plastic caps look. I plan to do it semi-infrequently. I.e. anytime I desire a carbed mead, Belgian, or when my sours are ready. It might be a pita to do corks & cages, but it's the route I intend to go, just need to find a decent corker that will work on Belgian bottles.

I have a thousand dollars for a conical

At least to start, I plan on dry hopping in a hop bag using sanitized floss to the hop loup on the 4" tc. However eventually I will likely go to something like this https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f35/process-pressure-kegging-dry-hopped-nice-clean-beers-brewhemoth-376383/ once I have more free...

Anyone harvest yeast from Russian River beers? I did, from Pliny

I've noticed through years of drinking PtE that some batches are more successful than others are removing the yeast.. I had one within the last couple months that had so much yeast sediment on the bottom (on par with what I'm used to in Oberon) I'm confident I could have easily harvested from it...

What do you recommend as a corker for belgian/champagne bottles with cork & cap? My LHBS only sells the floor corkers which will work for wine bottles, but not for a belgian and I've got a mead that I wish to bottle sparkling.

Anyone harvest yeast from Russian River beers? I did, from Pliny

Not to be debbie downer, but Pliny, and many other RR beers (Row2, Blind Pig etc etc) use WLP001 or another commercially available yeast. For the non IPA/Pale Ale that use WLP001, you can find out which yeast they use at https://store-54e42.mybigcommerce.com/bottle-logs/

Apparently neighbors actually call the cops on "meth labs"

"Shut up... then what happened" I'd have gotten booted out of my high school ROP AV class for putting together a news segment like that. I couldn't watch past 30 seconds of it. It's a shame her neighbors are stupid enough to believe that you can make meth from trees, but I can understand why...
