Ozzy stole a water balloon and carried it Around like a baby for at least 10 minutes before he finally popped it.

I like this time at night on HBT

Not to nitpick, but Veteran's day is the day to thank those who have served. Memorial Day is the day to honor those who gave their life in service to their country.

There's a bunch of different jolly balls on Amazon, can someone post an example of this toy? Ozzy would certainly benefit from self entertaining

    Who's smoking meat this weekend?

That looks delicious. I just threw a couple small filets of wild salmon on to hot smoke for brunch.

New York Automated 10Gal All Grain + Conicals for sale

Sorry to hear you had to close up the business. If I wasn't on the other side of the country I'd be interested in some of your stuff for sure. Can you tell me the make & model of the chest freezer you used for your brewhemoth? I have a single hemoth and havent been satisfied with the IC for...

    Who's smoking meat this weekend?

I did 14lb turkey in the bge as my wife didn't want ham. Injected a chicken stock and melted butter mixture and iced the breasts for 10min. Then it went on at 300 and held between 340-355 for eight about 3.25 hrs. The only downside to doing the bird "naked" the entire time is there's no...

    Who's smoking meat this weekend?

I've found that poultry does better hot and fast. I typically do a 12-14lb turkey at 325-350 for 3-3.5hrs. I also tend to ice the breasts for 10min or so prior to putting it on the smoker. This seems to help getting the dark meat done without drying out the white meat. I've done both the bird...

For those of you who went the e-collar routine for training (not yard boundaries), did you do so with a trainer or own your own? I can't find a trainer around here that I like that uses e-collars and I'm a little leary about taking it on myself. I've been working Ozzy on heeling, and walking...

    Dogs

I haven't yet, but I may. I normally use a martingale with him. He's generally a very friendly dog, but if he meets another dog and they give off any aggression it's on so having a collar that gives me control without risk of hurting him is important. Where is the pressure point on these...

American Pale Ale Russian River Row 2 Hill 56 Clone

I live in SR, so I use SR City Water, the same (i believe ) as Russian River. Take a look at post 34 . You can also find the RR Pliny Water profile various places on the web. The only addition I normally do to this beer is Campden for the Chloramine and a bit of gypsum. :mug:

Ozzy surveying the yard from the top of our gardening table. He likes to jump up there and snooze in the sun. Great dog, but a pita on leash. When he's not zig zagging to smell everything he's pulling. No matter what I've tried I can't get him to walk nice.

Here's what I get when I scale it down to 68% efficiency. You should be shooting for a pre boil gravity of around 1.041 though I wouldn't worry if both your pre and post boil were off by a few points.

American Pale Ale Russian River Row 2 Hill 56 Clone

You'll notice in the OP I left off variables like mash water volume and boil off simply because it's different for everyone based upon their setup, efficiency and how they scale the recipe. In general I'd expect to lose somewhere between 0.1 and 0.2gal per lb due to grain absorption. Again...

    Wet shaving thread.

I'm hoping for a strop and a Chosera 1k stone. My xmas gift to myself is I'll be going and picking out a jnat base stone and nagura set.

Vinnie didn't suggest any specific origin of Pilsner malt, nor a preferred maltster. I typically just snag whichever Pilsner malt my LHBS has in rotation at that type, which I think it's typically been Belgian. Truth be told, the difference between the malts might be getting into minutia...

    Video Games

Been playing the crap out of Destiny on ps4. I've always been an xbox guy, but the PS4 is just the better system so that's the one I picked up first. I've also really been enjoying seasonal play on Diablo 3 RoS. I haven't decided if I"m going to pickup Borderlands pre-sequel at launch...

    Slanting yeast

Most of my slants are now a year old, so it's time to re-slant them. Which leads me to two questions. 1) Should I plate out from the existing slants first, or simply slant to fresh media? 2) If my existing slants are Gen X, do they become Gen Y when re-slanted. I assume not, and figure the...

    Who's smoking meat this weekend?

I grill them with the husks on. Sometimes when they're done I'll pull the husks back and put a little chipotle honey butter on them and then pull the husks up again for a few min to let it melt. Mostly through I just eat them grilled with no butter.

    Who's smoking meat this weekend?

Sweet T's up in Fountain Grove? That's one of my favorite restaurants in the area! Their pulled pork is usually spot on, and the pulled pork nachos are a great appetizer though a bit light on the pork. Ironically for me their ribs have always been hit or miss. I've had them before when they...
