    The Home Made Pizza Thread

I was really craving some pizza for lunch today so I threw this together: about 2.5 cups of bread flower 1 cup of warm water a drizzle of olive oil a little bit of garlic salt 1 packet of yeast (I used active dry) Mix everything up together into a loose dough ball consistency, then turn it out...

Will Kenmore 8.8 fit 3 gallon kegs on the hump?

I just measured 8.8 kenmore. From the hump to the top where the lid sits is 18.5 inches. I don't know the dimensions of a 3 gallon keg so I can't say if it fits or not. Also, keep in mind that the lid has a bulge that sits down into the freezer by about an inch, so the actual height with the...

    Perlick 525 SS faucet leaks

Interesting thread, this is the first time I've seen or heard of this. I've got 4 525ss on order to finish my keezer build, I hope they hold up. I got them cause they were supposed to be the best, and they look better than those cheap rear sealing ones. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Keezer Build Kenmore 8.8 cu ft

I've only got four kegs right now, and they all fit with plenty of room on the floor. I don't think a fifth would fit there, but with a tall enough collar you could get five including one on the hump. And a quick update on the progress: The taps I ordered still haven't come in, they're...

    random beer recipe I made

I'd switch and use all Marris Otter or toss it out. Like others have said, I don't think 1/2 lb will be noticeable at all. Also, mash temp seems high, I normally don't go over 154 even if I'm going for full body.

    Type of copper/length?

I used 3/8 inch OD "refrigeration" style soft copper tubing. Worked well for an immersion chiller, and worked perfectly when I decided that wasn't cutting it and built a counter flow chiller. 25 feet was around 25 bucks and it works well because my 3/8 inch ID beer tubing slides on and off...

    summer shandy

Personally, I would stick to making a good wheat beer and mixing it with whatever you want when you drink it.

Grain Bill: 8.5 lbs 2 row pale malt 1 lb chocolate 1 lb crystal 80L 8 oz munich 8 oz flaked barley 8 oz flaked oats 8 oz roasted barley note: extra 2 row should be added or subtracted based on the efficiency of your system up to about 1 lb, adding extra mash water accordingly. My...

Keezer Build Kenmore 8.8 cu ft

Thanks for the input. I've been going back and forth on how to do the hinge, but I think I'm leaning to the was you described. Good catch on the lid interfering with the handles, I'll have to check on that before I go any further. And I only have 4 kegs, so I know they fit on the floor and it...

Keezer Build Kenmore 8.8 cu ft

Another update this week. I've ordered the faucets and shanks, four perlick 525ss with stainless shanks, that should be here by Friday. In the meantime, I've started staining the collar that I've cut out of a nice pine 1x8. I'm using Cabot stain in Red Mahogany. I just finished putting the...

    American Hops for an ESB

I made an ESB a couple weeks ago that I kinda made borderline English IPA. I used all Northern Brewer and Willamette hops. Tastes delicious.

    1L flask for 1L starter?

I make 1L starters in a 1L flask all the time, they never come close to overflowing, there's never even any foaming.

    Late addition Simcoe = Apricot?

I love the Simcoe, my standard IPA is hopped heavily with Simcoe and then dry hopped with even more (In addition to some Northern Brewer hops which is a great combo in my opinion). I get the pine that I want from the early bittering additions, and get lots of grapefruit from the flameout and...
