I believe it is caused by a yellow flame from the popane, which means too much oxygen getting to it ( If I remember correctly) so try cutting down the oxygen getting to the burner and it should go away

I've made a vanilla chai tea brown ale. It was good at first but after aging a bit, it tasted like old vanilla coke. Not my favorite. I'm thinking about using some jasmin pearls in a batch soon. I recommend adaigo teas. They are great and good prices

White labs says optimum temp is 68-72 so I would stick with that for my first time. I have no experience with lacto fermentations yet, but I've heard they take a while to sour. One thing I've heard, and you wouldn't be able to do this with your yeast, is pitch a lacto vile instead of your beer...

Its the same strain just treated differently. The drying process must make some difference in the flavor profile. Under-pitching doesn't necessarily mean low floccing. That strain in general likes to hang around longer, cleaning up the beer more. That is partly why it is a nuetral, clean strain.

Clove phenolics are definitely yeast derived. Are you sure it's clove you are smelling? Try lowering your pitching temp by ten degrees and try to hold it there for the first couple days of fermentation. The you can let it rise up.

I got my Newcastle glasses from a buy a pint keep the glass promo, it's an alright glass... When I got my Sam Adams glass a while back I was surprised at how thin the glass was, but it's still one of my favorite glasses, I like their oktoberfest glass alot too.

From what I've heard that will work, but it will take much much longer...better try and pour those dregs in a small starter like you would step up from.
