What’s the concern with boil canning? That’s worked fine for me for dozens of gallons of starter wort.

15 gallon Boilermaker G2 in good condition. No dents or dings. Replaced the stock port with a 3-piece SS ball valve. Will include the old valve as well. Asking $350 obo. Southern NJ. Shipping would suck but I’m open to it.

    Green Scouring Pads

i use them to clean the inside of my SS unitank and my blichmann g2 BK. it may mess with the stainless “brushed” look so i wouldn’t recommend it on the outside for aesthetic purposes, but i couldn’t care less about that on the inside.

    Best homebrewing app for iPhone

Interested in the responses as well. Despite trying to do everything on my phone, I haven’t downloaded or used a single app for brewing. Beersmith on the desktop is my main, but I see no need to buy it for the phone. Also see no need for any other brewing apps. But I feel it’s because i don’t...

    1 gallon batch equip. advice

Hey all. Looking into doing 1gallon batches as a pilot system for recipes on my 10gal setup. Planning to use 1g wine jugs for fermentation (but open to other suggestions!). Looking for your experiences/ advice on equipment. Specifically: 1) Keg options for 1 gal? 2) Closed transfers from FV...

American Pale Ale Bee Cave Brewery Haus Pale Ale

Brewed 11g and pitched two dry Nottingham packets without hydrating per the original instructions. Ferm ended at 1.020. Should I pull some settled yeast from the bottom of the conical and reintroduce it to continue ferm?

    Pilot batch setup

Thanks for the comments! I’m looking to reduce the amount of $ wasted if a batch goes bad. My 1/2bbl SS unitank can do minimum 7gal batches before the FTSS coil doesn’t reach the wort. But I have a couple of Speidel fermenters to use for smaller batches. Looking for a good kettle setup for the...

    Pilot batch setup

Hey all, After some recent failures with my standard 11g system I've begun considering building a "pilot" system to perfect recipes before putting them through the large system (where failure is more costly...). I'm shooting for a 5 gallon BIAB setup and hopefully something small enough that...

Is this newly purchased yeast too old?

Should be okay. Plenty of yeast viability tools out there to help compensate. I use Beersmith.
