    HELP!! Yeast Issue

It's not really that black and white. The end product will be different. There is also the chance the yeast was weak or mostly "dead". In a Wit, you might want a more stressed yeast for more traditional flavor profile. Here are some suggested pitching rates. Essentially, the more yeast you...

    Check Out My Brewing Blog

I could not imagine a summer without brewing. That is my favorite time to brew, but I like heat so there you have it. Site looks good. I love fly sparging. Now, fill it with some springtime brew-logs!

Any way to fix an astringent brew?

That flavor will mellow with some time, but it will always be there. Chalk it up to experience and try a lower sparge temp. and/or pH.

    HELP!! Yeast Issue

Let's talk about Foam Control drops (aka Fermcap)

Tried this last Monday. I usually have to worry about regulating the burner at boilover time, but not with this stuff! I just let it run and it saved me probably 10 min of messing w/ the gas, waiting until the hot break fell. Now, the true test in about 4 weeks as to wether my beer tastes...

    Two brews, One airlock

That is what I usually do. Or tape the hole over if fermentation is done. Air will still leak out.

Earth day: Whats a brewery's carbon foot-print like?

You might try using water from the hot water heater for brewing. Your hot water heater is much more efficient that your gas burner. Also, use the water output from your wort chiller for warm/hot (depending of the efficiency of the chiller) water for sanitizing. You don't really need...

MID OHIO BREWERS SOCIETY BREWDAY April/May??

The Eastside suburbs of D-town. About 8-10 min. drive from I-71 Delaware exit. As far as the exact date, most any w/e in July is good for me, but the man of the house will need to chime in on that one. Is a Saturday or a Sunday generally better for you guys?

    March Swap ~ SuperiorBrews Beers

I found the Red in back of the refrigerator, and have been sampling that one. Appear - Deep Red, small bubbles, good head retention and lacing. Aroma - Not much here, maybe a little malt backbone. MF - Appropriate light body and modernate carb help emphasize bitterness and clean Irish yeast...
