    Brew Boss Systems

How are you guys getting your brew days so short? Assuming a 60min boil and 60min mash that leaves 60 minutes to setup, heat to temperatures, sparge, chill and clean up. This also assumes some tasks are being performed in parallel (e.g. milling grain, sanitizing, yeast prep)

    Brew Boss Systems

You would use the 50A spa panel in series with a 30A breaker in your panel. Since they are in series the 30A breaker would protect the controller.

    Is 303 Stainless magnetic?

Ok found that thread, and it wasn't a Monster Mill that wore out. My questions were specifically about the standard Monster Mill, how long do the rollers last and how that compares to other mills on the market (with hardened or non-hardened rollers). And yes, eventually everything will wear out.

    Is 303 Stainless magnetic?

I guess the questions are: 1) How many homebrewers have worn the knurls off their Monster Mills? How much grain did it take? How does that compare to other mills? 2) What are the other manufactures with hardened rollers and what is the price of those mills? Monster Mill does offer other...

    Is 303 Stainless magnetic?

From their site: "There are two roller material options available for the standard 1.5" mills. They come standard with 1144 alloy steel, which offers fantastic wear for home brewers. Plain steel mills kept indoors, and used regularly won't have rust issues. Non climate controlled areas, or...

    GFCI Options

Correct, you're basically making a GFCI power cord but using a spa panel to do it. It will probably come in around half the cost or so of a GFCI power cord once you add in the parts you need to make it. The panel itself was ~$60 at either HD or Lowes. I originally started out by using the...

    GFCI Options

Another option with the spa panel would be to use a plug, vice hardwiring it in. Similar to this:

    Wiring for 240 volt properly

Still working on my brew area, but that's exactly how I ran my electrical. I used standard boxes with extensions to bring the receptacles flush with the cinder block. As suggested above, the first box (the quad) would have been a PITA without the extension. I would suggest at least using deep boxes.

How do you know you have 120V 20A service?

Hard to tell from just a photo, but it could it be the type where the wire gets clamped in place by the screw on the side? If that's the case then there's no issue with the way it is.

    Brew Boss Systems

I have a spa panel that I plug into my dryer receptacle. I also have an extension cord that I made so can brew under my deck or in the kitchen, it's ~25' long. No issues with doing that. One thing I did with mine was made it 4-wire, even though the Brew-Boss is 3-wire. I just put a 4-wire...

    Brew Boss Systems

I don't see how dust could have been the cause of the breaker tripping, something else must have been going on. These are molded case breakers, completely sealed. Dust should not and cannot get inside of them. There should be no reliability concerns with going the route of a GFCI breaker in...
