iSpindel - Can't connect to Wifi AP

You can flash before soldering and assembly (it's what I've done on mine) but you can't test at that time. One of the first things the iSpindel firmware does is look for the sensors and will no go further if they are missing. If you're connected to console, you can see the messages saying the...

I don't believe Boston bottles are designed to hold pressure.

In Line GFCI vs Panel GFCI

Mine was inspired by that, but not an exact copy... And I ended up with metal.

    Viking malts

All of that is true in as far as how it is processed. But it is a specific variety of barley that they do that process to, which is the more important part. In other words, doing the same process on 2-row doesn't suddenly make it into Maris Otter.

    Viking malts

Which comes from it being a different variety of grain, not from a different malting process.

how many ounces of co2 for a 5 gallon corny?

Which is basically what the chart says... If anything, the 1 volume estimate means you'll undercarb to about 1.9 instead of 2.1 vols, but that's not too significant. What's the issue you're seeing with using the chart, @bracconiere?

In Line GFCI vs Panel GFCI

For the spa panel idea, see this thread. I built one of them earlier this year for roughly the same price as your inline GFCI.

    Need help with FG!

The refractometer vs hydrometer question only really comes into play if the apparent attenuation is extremely low (under 50%). If this was a refractometer reading at 1.022 (5.5 brix) with an OG of 1.082, you'd be looking at a corrected FG around 0.988.

    Strange Gravity Reading.

Diluted sample is something I hadn't considered for all grain, even though it's why I had asked if this was extract... Stratification due to sparging makes sense, I just forgot probably because I'm usually doing full volume BIAB these days.

    Amount of yeast

A slight overpitch won't matter, so either way works... Unless you're planning another batch soon, in the 8-10 liter range, probably not worth holding back the other 2 grams of yeast.

Started an Apple Bochet (boe shay)

There's visible bubbles rising in that jug, so the air/pressure is going somewhere. Since it's not going to the blowoff jar, chances are you've got a leak either in the cap on the jug, or where the hose attaches to the cap.

    Strange Gravity Reading.

Is this all grain or extract? If all grain, my only guess is that one of your readings was off.

Forced fermentation test with starter beer

Definitely a coincidence. Based on those numbers for the Wyeast 1098, the starter had an apparent attenuation of 76%, but the beer made it to 86%. If you want to know an approximate attenuation range, the yeast manufacturer usually lists those. The point of a forced fermentation test is to...

First Time Grower, Need Some Trellis Advice

I haven't grown yet, just been researching for a little bit, but I'm also limited on height and liked this idea I read a while back: Growing Hops in Containers - Brew Your Own The gist of it is you put a hook/loop at the top of your pole to attach the coir to, but leave plenty of extra coir...

    Weird Alkalinity numbers

Interesting, I didn't realize it was so hard to find there. You can't walk into a grocery store here without passing a refill machine... I've started considering a home system for myself as well though, just so I've always got water available.

    iSpindle - DIY Electronic Hydrometer

The data sheet links are broken, but it looks right. The only measurement listed (switch travel) matches what I'm using, and I can't imagine the hole spacing being any different. It is however missing the additional mechanical connections, so you would be relying on the three through hole...

    Weird Alkalinity numbers

Some places (including where I'm at) use different water sources depending on the time of year as well. I've heard some people get around this by getting a water test for each season. I eventually decided going with RO was easier for me, but it does mean I have to make sure I've got a couple 5...
