What is that one homebrewing task you just refuse to do? Other than bottling...

YES to these two. Dunno if I always make it to 30, depends how close I was to whatever I was doing.

What is that one homebrewing task you just refuse to do? Other than bottling...

I'm very lazy.... lol No water chemistry - tap water + Kmeta for chloramine (also fill vessels thenight before if I remember) No adjusting mash volume - 4 gallons, every time. May adjust the sparge volume to account for grain losses. Often no immersion chiller - leave the pot on the stove...

    ? About Water

Yes, with the caveat that "ingredients" needs to include some minerals And yes, that will vary based on the beer. Unfortunately I can't help with more than that since I don't yet do anything to my water.

Creative ways of keeping your fermenter in the dark ;)

I have a couple cardboard boxes that the carboys came in. Just unfold it slightly to poke the air lock through the bottom.

The craft beer bubble is busting.

I think most places do that around here. Usually a Pilsner/Lager/Golden Ale. Beau's Lug Tread is one of the most ubiquitous craft beers in Ontario, and it's a Kolsch marketed as a Lagered Ale. A lot of wheat beers fall into this "easy drinking" category too. Isn't the alcohol %age a minimum...

Ask A Pro: Do you aerate your wort?

I stick the hose from the kettle just a few inches into the carboy, and let the wort fall down to the bottom Seems to work okay.

Sediment/ floaties on sides of bottles?

Holy necro-post! Lol... Never did narrow down what it was, I switched to kegging. Forgot all about dealing with this kind of thing. I hope I never bottle again.

    Most embarrassing homebrewing mistakes

Similar to a post above... I have 4 taps on kegerator door. Recently all torn down and cleaned, so only 1 tap is installed and hooked up to a keg (I just moved, creating a gap in my supply) on Line 1. I kegged a second beer, hooked it up at 35ish psi to co2 Line 3, vented the keg, and then...

How Many Gallons of Homebrew in 2018?

15 gallons, was intended to be a ESB/Bitter/Mild Partigyle, but it looked very brown, so might end up being a series or brown ales.... 12976
