    Homemade PBW Recipe

Hmmm..... Says on the filter box, " removes minerals and chlorine....." That said, with the filter, I get no precipitation, ( I think it is called), of minerals when using the mixture, which does happen if I use water sans the filter. Said water also keeps my Star San from clouding up over...

    Homemade PBW Recipe

I use a converted dishwasher, for cleaning kegs and carboy's, with said mixture. I have super hard water, and I run the water feed for the washer, through a whole house sized carbon filter, before the washer, and no worries of the mineral content.

What Sanitisers and Cleaners are used.

My used restaurant sink in my brew area, is pitted from the use of bleach. There's a couple of holes in it, that are 1/8" dia. or smaller. I plan to shoot a couple of Monel, ( stainless), solid rivets into them to plug them.

    Keg still.

I know that boil and boil off, on beer brew days sure happens a lot quicker!

    Keg still.

"Boil temps".......I know how much my water boil temps changed, when I moved to altitude........ Wonder what the Ethanol did, since I've not run since........? Moved from 1000ft. ele. to 7880 ele.

    Fruit press wooden basket.....

Is he still alive, so you could ask him?........ I'm thinkin', if I leave them bare.........What's gonna' happen, other than soak up juice? Will it kill the wood in short order? I personally can't see it storing enough of a previous squeeze, to affect a subsequent squeeze, flavor...

    Weldless bulkhead keeps leaking

I'm thinkin', ( and seen most of my Tig welding former co-workers do this!), you have a " T " in your Argon line, one to the torch, the other to the weld area. Say your "work area" is 3" in dia......... You rig a cup, or a dam, or some sort of receptacle, where you can shroud the area in...

    Weldless bulkhead keeps leaking

Um, ya' only have to contain the purge gas, in the weld area....... Unless ya' got's unlimited Argon......:D

    Fruit press wooden basket.....

I have a Berarducci Brothers fruit press I've refurbished, and would like to know: On the new wood slats I made for the basket, leave them bare, or treat them with a sealer? I don't want to oil them, ( I don't think?), lest it possibly carry over / affect future squeezin's. The wood I used is...

    Weldless bulkhead keeps leaking

If you bend the edge of the washer, where it matches the radius, at the bottom of the vessel,( think "it nests"), and tighten it all up, you won't flatten the washer again. Of course, all bets are off, if your hole is drilled more than "a little too low", where the nut won't swing on the washer...

    Weldless bulkhead keeps leaking

If, the assembly is too low, as you stated, make sure whatever washer, ( should be an "area" washer ideally, aka a "fender washer), and if your washer is hitting the radius,@ the bottom of the pot, try to "massage" a slight radius into the washer, so that the edge of said washer, won't be...

Does this look like Lead in this Crock?

Yes, Lead used to be prevalent in the glazes on "crockery", but that was probably.......40+ years ago. Got a date on the bottom, perhaps?

Does this look like Lead in this Crock?

Looks like spoon marks........Kinda' like I see in the bottom of my white coffee cup, when stirred with a stainless spoon....... My take: If you got zero indication, then you got's zero Lead....
