Any affordable 1 1/2 gallon kegs out there?

Saw the ones on Morebeer. Bit more than I wanted to spend... guess I stick to bottling mead and cider.

Step 1 of the Keezer build. Still have all the Oak trim to complete

I hope you are not attaching that wheeled base to the freezer with screws...

Starsan - Been there, done that!

Star San at the dilution we use will not eat a gallon jug. But many of the gallon water jugs stores sell with water are super thin and get pinholes from age alone. Plus they are making them so they break down faster in landfills... My 5 gallon bucket I use for Star San is 2 years old and fine...

Setting up my Brew Cave. New guy doesn't have a clue!!!

AL of my fermenting buckets have spigots on them for transferring to the keg via gravity(use a piece of tubing that reaches the bottom of the,keg for less splashing). I brew all grain and have never had the yeast/hop debris/grain debris that made the boil kettle ever be deep enough to reach the...

Any affordable 1 1/2 gallon kegs out there? Used is fine by me... I do mead and cider in 1 gallon batches and I hate bottling... be easier to keg and put under CO2

    Good beer turned bad?

Were t hey all on the same liquid line? If so that line is contaminated... I just had that problem. Kegged a batch that tasted great, put it where I had an IPA that had some funk going on(it was tasty, just not an IPA!) and forgot to sanitize the line and tap. Yup, my next keg had the same funk...

    New mash paddle

I have a maple mash paddle. Mash in with it dry, rinse, hang to dry! No special treatment needed as long as you don't let the wet malt dry on it.

    Bulk storage of grains?

5 gallon buckets/gamma seal lids. Think I have 10 of them with grain now because I buy bulk for most of them.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

-12 for the high temp today! Ordered a pump so I can chill wort by recirculating instead of running the hose... will make winter brewing easier. Need to get a tank to catch the hot water from the first part of cooling and use it for cleaning... get away from garden hose in this deep cold. I can...

    IPA burnout

Dunno if it is in your area but August Schell's Brewery makes some okay beers... I grew up drinking the stuff so nothing special to me but they do a large variety of German style beer. Brewery was in New Ulm still so we got beer straight from them by the keg, and cases of "shorts"(bottles that...

    new Beerman in town!

Save where you can! My brew rig is the junkyard special, only new parts were some unistrut rail and the 3 burners, and of course kettles. Main base used to be a 3m AV cabinet that was sitting in a junk auction. $5! 4 cans of spray paint $30, scrap lumber, shelf standards I use for lumber racks...

You know you're a home brewer when?

When you debate brewing at -7f in an unheated garage then sanity takes over... NOPE!
