difference b/w brewers malt and pilsner malt?

That's why I still have it @60% in my IPA

How many gallons brewed in 2025

I like your hop additions. I have been considering a brew based on Chinook, El Dorado, and Amarillo. Do you have thoughts on the timing of the additions? Amarillo primarily for aroma with Chinook/ El Dorado for bittering and flavor?

difference b/w brewers malt and pilsner malt?

I have routinely been adding Pilsen malt in my IPAs for a year or so and pleased with the results. Generally around 20% of the grain bill with either Munich or Vienna and 6 lbs of 2 row as the base malt. Hoppy brewing!

What I did for beer today

Bottled 2-5 gallon batches (48 bottles/ea) "Hungry Brown Dog" American Brown ale; and Kujo's Cave Porter @ 7.9 % abv. Don't anticipate getting after the Porter until the leaves turn. Looking forward to the HBD in a couple of weeks. Have 2 pale/hoppy ales planned for later this week to round out...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

In the middle of Hungry Brown Dog (American Brown ale). Mashing out now. Crushed grain @ .05 just to see impact on Pre-boil gravity, so far everything appears to be on track as i hit my predicted 1.060 (refractometer) after draining basket. On to the boil. 5.5 gallon into fv @ 1.063 (tilt)...

SS Brewtech New Equipment Cleaning - Anyone else have trouble?

Yea, I should have added that I also added a PBW wash following my TSP treatment and a thorough rise, wipe with soft cloth, etc.

SS Brewtech New Equipment Cleaning - Anyone else have trouble?

I made my TSP a bit stronger and put in reasonable effort to clean the residues. I don't think I fully achieved a spotless wipe down but it was close enough to begin brewing.

Steam lid that vents directly outside?

My Spike lid works well as applied on the Ss BrewTech SVBS. A major addition to my hot side process that keeps my ceiling tiles from growing mold. I will note there is a vacuum produced and noted when I periodically remove the sight glass for my hop additions.

    Voodoo Ranger Imperial IPA

Yes, most of the other Rangers in the family are something else. My son told me the story (related by an employee) about how they transitioned from "traditional" Belgian style ales to IPAs when they had "beer rangers" survey customers at select venues where they had "Ranger" on tap. The result...

    is catty a compliment?

I have a Chinook IPA in our clubs competition as we speak. I am curiously awaiting the feedback and wondering if the flavor is going to be disqualifing.

    is catty a compliment?

I dated girls like that back in the 70's

    Voodoo Ranger Imperial IPA

The Imperial is way popular in my location with the med and vet students. I prefer the regular Voodo Ranger at lower abv, and they are different beers. I routinely use New Belgium bottles, they are good quality and clean up well.

    is catty a compliment?

The resulting aromas and perceived flavor are acquired taste. I was put off by "catty" as applied to Simcoe hops, in one of my earlier beers but after brewing several other batches have found the acquired taste. Similarly, I have found the acquired taste for Chinook hops in one of my other IPAs.

    What are you drinking now?

I drank a lot of Corona during my research sojourn in Tamaulipas back in the 90's. As they say a lot little ones add up to big ones. Still the light beers were easy to quaff without filling you up.
