Which method is better for secondary fermentation?

All I got was a big ol' bag of dextrose. I put about 1 cup of it in the initial malt extract mix as per the instructions on the can.. but now I'm left with a ton of it. I've heard to use about 1 teaspoon per bottle, but is there any difference between priming sugar and dextrose?

Newbie questions, using Coopers Pilsner kit

I see a lot of people use 'carbonation drops'. Are they simply compacted dextrose tablets? If I don't add dextrose before bottling, how will the beer become carbonated?

Which method is better for secondary fermentation?

Yeah, I don't want to mess anything up yet. After the 3 weeks, I add more dextrose and immediately bottle it right? Then wait another 2 weeks to begin drinking it?

Which method is better for secondary fermentation?

I brewed a batch of coopers pilsner extract last night and I was wondering what the best method of second (or final) fermentation is? It's currently in a plastic barrel with an airlock. Should I siphon and move to a carboy after a few days, then wait for another 2 weeks, THEN bottle it...

Do I put water in the Airlock?

So is it ok to not have ANYTHING in there? Or it is highly recommended to put something in? I just did my first brew and the airlock is already on the fermenting bucket... but it's only been there for an hour, I'm sure taking it off, filling it with vodka and putting it back on won't hurt...

Do I put water in the Airlock?

I bought an airlock in a kit from my local homebrew store, but I didn't see anywhere if I was supposed to put water (or I've even read vodka) into the airlock itself. Is the only reason for doing that so you can see bubbles travelling through the airlock? Or does it serve another purpose?
