I found some for $6 a half (repeat half ) gallon here in Maine. But, I found another place that had gallons for $4. The 2 places are 25 minutes apart, so look around.

I used a bottle holder for a bike from Wally world for like $5. I think mine is a 20 oz. tank and it fits great.

+1. I do the same. Rubbermaid tote and old pond pump connected to immersion chiller. Run water back to the tote. Add snow as it mets. 10 - 15 minutes to under 100 F.

I have found a Holiday beer recipe that calls for 4 lbs. light malt extract and 3.3 lbs. light extract. and a little chocolate malt and crystal. My question is what is the difference between light malt extract and just light extract? :confused: and I am not even drinking tonight (yet)

Look around for an enamel pot. i got one at Renys here in New England that was 29.00 for a 32 qt. No boil over for 5 gal batches. Works good on the turkey frier burner. Just don't dent it.

Have you considered an interior stainless chiller attached to the lid. Make it about half the diamater of the fermentor. It would come off with the lid so could be cleaned and would not touch the sides so no worry about scratching your fermentor. Then have an external wrapped around the outside...
