Beer themed trip to Germany etc. Recommendations?

Thanks for the tips. I assume all of these spots you suggested are in Munchen? We reserved a whole house via Air B&B back in Feb so that is sorted. But are you saying you need beer hall reservations too?

Beer themed trip to Germany etc. Recommendations?

Thanks for all the advice guys. I want really planning on spending much time in Frankfurt but just flying round trip from there since it it's so central. Just from looking at maps and train routes I was originally planning on going Frankfurt to Cologne (to check out the cathedral) via the Rhine...

Beer themed trip to Germany etc. Recommendations?

Hi guys, I am meeting a group of friends in Europe to celebrate one of them getting married. It is largely a bucks trip but really a whole lot more than the standard. We plan to stay in Amsterdam for three nights, spend a night on the way to Munich somewhere else and then of course a few days...

Using poor man's methods, but getting good results. Should I invest more effort?

Unless you use PET bottles like me our you will end up with some miniature bottles that stand at a funn angle haha.

Using poor man's methods, but getting good results. Should I invest more effort?

To sparge with hot water two techniques that I have used for BIAB are to heat water and pour it into a watering can and sparge the top of the grain bag. Our the other method is to heat an electric kettle to the desired temp and sparge directly with that.

DIPA to cold crash or not to cold crash?

I vote for cold crash, then dry hop after allowing it to warm up again, then cold crash again.

    Fruit Beer Lemon-Lime Hefe Weizen

So I made my own mock-limeade since (from the nutritional info on the website) it is not available where I live, with 200 ml of lime juice freshly squeezed and 192 g table sugar. I boiled the sugar in a small volume of water and then added the lime juice to the boiling sugar and took it off...

    Bubbling after three weeks!

Did you move or disturb the fermenter in any way? Could just be off gassing of dissolved CO2. Sounds like you made the right call bottling now anyway.

    Fermenting in a SS pot

Sorry didn't notice that part. If they're in a sealed anf refrigerated unit it should be fine.

Next step after extract.. partial or AG BIAB?

I only have a 15 L pot and regularly BIAB up to 3.5 kg grain. I usually use this with one can of LME and top up to dilute in fermenter. Works very well. Need to look into getting a bigger pot though.

    Fermenting in a SS pot

I'd just be concerned about fruit flies. Could you use silicone caulk on the edge of the lid and just peel it off after you rack your beer? Obviously would need an airlock.

Question about Yeast Harvesting, after re-pitch...

Nor sure about answer to your question but in future you will likely get more responses if you start your own thread rather than resurrecting one that is three years old.

    No fermentation. First time brewing.

Could also be temperature related. I know in the winter here in Australia if often takes a couple days for my brews to kick off. Also, RDWHAHB :)

    Cascade/MO SMaSH - WLP007

Drinking Yooper's pale now with all cascade. Has a few malts (munich, 2row, crystal) but just cascade hops. Her hop schedule makes a delicious beer! Nothing wrong at all with doing all cascade!

How close is your "local" home brew shop?

Mine is five minutes walk away. Useful on those inebriated bring a brew nights ;)

    coopers kits?

I have three older one previously described with the grommet and airlock. As I understand it the design of the new one makes an airlock unnecessary. It's this correct?

    coopers kits?

I use my Coopers fermenter for everything. It's good being able to bottle directly from the fermenter!

Mangrove Jack's M20 Bavarian Wheat yeast advice

Ok thanks that was what I was concerned about.

Mangrove Jack's M20 Bavarian Wheat yeast advice

Ok thanks for the advice. Actually it's a bit colder than I expected in the apartment with temperature of my swamp chiller around 16 deg C so temperature should be ok. Is there any risk of undesirable flavours from fermenting too cold?
