Nothing out of the ordinary. Been playing with WLP001 and WY1272 at different temperature cycles and pitching rates. I've been playing around with deliberately over-pitching and fermenting at 60-62 with these. My goal is to have it in primary for a maximum of two weeks or less if I can get...

WLP029 used to be my favorite strain for everything from blonde ales to amber ales. It's a great strain and I've made some of my best beers with it but it REALLY needs a good amount of time. I've been on a fast grain to glass kick lately and have moved away from 029 for this very reason.

We have to pay to recycle where I live. In the end, it's cheaper for restaurants to just throw everything away rather than recycle glass. The only restaurants that recycle here do so because they have an environmental conscience.

I'm new to kegging and forgot to push my sanitizer through the dip tube with gas. I filled the keg to about 3/4 full and then turned upside down for about 5 mins....Then I racked my beer in it and it's in the fridge. What odds am I looking at that it will become infected?

How many drops are you putting on it? I put only 1-2 drops on my refractometer and it's plenty for a reading. As mentioned above, the thermal mass of 4 drops is significantly greater than that of 1-2 drops.

Again, the minerals are concentrated in the extract. Many people use distilled water with NO minerals to do extract/partial mash brews (if we're talking about only using steeping grains for PM.)
