OK, so cobra taps are CRAP

I just found out I can rent carpet steam cleaners at my local grocery store, so I guess I'm off to do that tomorrow. Seriously though, these cobra taps are garbage. I almost had a stroke when I saw what had happened. There are veins in my head that are stull pulsing, lol.

OK, so cobra taps are CRAP

    Humourous, but not helpful! :p

OK, so cobra taps are CRAP

And now I have lost about 4-5 pints of beer out of a leaky cobra tap, now soaked into my carpet. Problem solved with the cobra tab, I smashed it with a hammer so I'll never use it, or another, again. Now does anybody have any ideas on how to clean 5 pints worth of beer out of a...

Torrified wheat vs malted wheat..what's the difference?

Thanks OldManBrew, my mistake! lol Doesn't malted wheat add head retention as well?

Torrified wheat vs malted wheat..what's the difference?

So I have two recipies for an ale I've wanted to brew ever since I started brewing: Double Dragon. One recipe was in a recent Brew mag, which calls for malted wheat, another was one I found online, which calls for torrified wheat. What's the difference between the two? I ask because my LHBS...

Is stiffening your kegerator door necessary?

I don't believe it's fibreglass, but rigid foam insulation, no? Wouldn't the shape of the door and the insulation glued to the inside of it add enough stability? If not could I use 1/8" laminated fibreboard or would mould become an issue then?

    My conical beer fermenter

Very nice! Wish I had those skillz.

Is stiffening your kegerator door necessary?

So it can be made of wood? I thought moisture and mold might be an issue with a wood product.

Is stiffening your kegerator door necessary?

Hey everybody, I've read on several accounts of converting a mini fridge to a kegerator that the door's shelved insert was replaced with another similarly sized piece of plexiglass or simlar material to help stiffen the door. Is this really necessary? I would figure the shape of the door...

Cleaning an old cooler to use as MLT

I'd soak it with some Star San just to be sure, but yeah, like everyone else said, it should be fine.

    Fin du monde

You can try adding the orange rind in the last 5 minutes of the boil. It will pretty much have the same effect and you won't have to worry about possibly infecting the beer.

    Storing beer in a cornie.

OK, so I had it at 25 psi in the fridge for about 18 hours (unconnected to the tank), then I bled it and reset at 12 psi (now connected to the tank) and I'm gonna leave it sit for a few more days or a week. Should that be good? Thanks, Nick

Another reason why I am NEVER bottling beer again!

Got a batch of pumpkin session ale sitting in my kegerator at 12 PSI right now! Should be ready in a few days.

Another reason why I am NEVER bottling beer again!

Luckily I found it, but based on my reaction when I did find it, I think my wife (who was upstairs the whole time) suspects that something is amiss, lol.

Another reason why I am NEVER bottling beer again!

Put a bottle in the freezer to chill it quickly and forgot about it...:(

About to finish my kegerator...a few questions.

Hey kegerator experts! I'm going to finally complete my kegerator that I've had all the parts for over a month for. I just have a few questions. First is regarding my tap tower. I got one of those cheap chrome ones, a dual tap. It said "insulated" in the ad on the website but that...

Cheap & Easy 10 Gallon Rubbermaid MLT Conversion

How much grain are we talking about to collapse the braid? I have a 5 gallon Rubbermaid that I have yet to use. That size MT can realistically really only handle about 12 lbs of grain...will/can that weight collapse a SS braid? Nick

what people who dont know better do with cornies

Actually my recommendation would be to fight weeds naturally. -Mow high (no shorter than 3") -Top dress with organic matter once a year. -Over seed with a diverse grass seed mix twice a year. -Add white clover seed to your mix -Remove weeds by hand if you feel you must. -Accept that you...
